Dooblock Isu is a pasta restaurant near Isu Station. The atmosphere is so good that people reportedly go for dates, blind dates and wedding invitation get-togethers. I'd been meaning to visit for ages, and this time I finally booked and went. The vibe really is great. How did they make the interior so colorful and so pretty at the same time?

Great atmosphere, great food. We picked three dishes and enjoyed them, and not a single one was a miss. The salad, the pasta and the risotto were all absolutely delicious.

I had tasty food and a beer in a lovely setting. Thanks to Dooblock, it was a happy, fun evening. Let me sum up the visit.

Dooblock Isu exterior: can you go during break time?

During break time, Dooblock Isu takes drink orders only, so you can use it like a café. Dewblock. You can feel it even from far away: this is a restaurant with a good atmosphere.

Inside Dooblock Isu: atmosphere and private room

The inside of Dooblock Isu is white-toned, with assorted decorations and lighting that create its own signature mood. There is also a private room, so it's perfect for group gatherings or wedding invitation meetups. For groups, booking the room is a good idea.

It was really crowded. We walked in, had our reservation checked and were shown to our seats. The interior is seriously amazing. It's a bit dark overall, with table lamps adding accents.

Just looking around puts you in a good mood. I'm not usually someone who cares about this kind of thing, but still, it really is nice.

We wanted to sit as close to the side as possible, so we chose this spot.

Jambon cabbage salad: order it, no question

The first to arrive was the jambon cabbage salad. Bacon is laid on top of the cabbage.

Seriously, order this. It's really delicious. First they cut it into bite-sized pieces with scissors, following the grain of the cabbage from the top.

There's sauce underneath, so you eat sauce, cabbage and bacon together. Crunchy, sweet cabbage. A taste that calls for beer.

Draft Budweiser and the lighting

At Dooblock Isu we had draft Budweiser with the meal. I like Budweiser anyway, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Maybe it's the lighting, but everything looks even tastier. I felt drunk on the lights. Absolutely delicious.

Octopus ink risotto with a whole giant octopus leg

Next was the octopus ink risotto. A whole giant octopus leg sits on top. Ink risotto is good whenever you eat it.

Pomodoro pasta, a flavor I'd never tried

Next, the pomodoro pasta. I'd never had this before, and it's an unusual taste that keeps pulling you back. Something creamy sits on top of the tomato pasta.

The octopus leg on the ink risotto is sliced into bite-sized pieces for you. Put the cream sauce and octopus on the risotto and eat them together, so good. Sweet risotto. The octopus is incredibly tender.

You mix the pomodoro pasta up like this, all together. Eat it with the cheese and tomato. Exclamations just come out on their own.

Ta-da, ta-da, ta-da. The portion is surprisingly big. I was full, but the forkfuls kept going in.

Winning the prize event, finishing with a mojito

In the Dooblock Isu kiosk prize event, we won 4th prize, a coupon for your choice of tea or ade, and finished with a mojito. We joined the event once we'd eaten a fair amount. Drumroll, please.

We ordered a mojito with it. Maybe because we won it, it tasted even better. It was really fizzy, which made it a good way to finish. Fresh and zesty.

We did the dishes for them, so to speak. Cleared again today.

Dooblock Isu overall review
