You know those days after work when you just want a cold draft beer with something delicious on the side? 🍻 This time I was looking for a place where I could have chicken and easily keep going into a second round, and I ended up at Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch. After trying everything from the chicken to the fried side dishes, it turned out to be a great spot both for a proper meal-with-drinks and for stopping by later just for a beer.

Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch has generous space both indoors and on its outdoor patio, so there's plenty of choice when it comes to seating. On a nice day like this, sitting out on the patio with a cold beer would make for an even better atmosphere. 🌿 If you visit early you can grab whichever seat you like, so if you want to take your time, it's worth heading over a bit ahead of the rush. (We visited at 6pm!!)

Crispy tenders and shrimp, 20,000 won

After ordering the chicken, pickled radish came out first as a complimentary side, along with some sauces. The crispy tender and shrimp platter is ₩20,000 — both the tenders and the fried shrimp are bite-sized, easy-to-eat portions, making them a great match for beer.

Crisp tenders with sour cream sauce

The tenders are fried crispy on the outside, so they're tasty on their own, but dipping them in the sour cream that comes alongside adds a tangy, smooth note that works really well.

Unlike the crispy exterior, the inside of the tenders at this Balsan Station chicken spot is soft, giving it a great texture. It's never dry, so you can enjoy it slowly with your beer while it stays moist.

Whole shrimp, fried and easy to pick up

The fried shrimp are fried whole, so they're easy to just pick up one at a time. The outside is crispy while the inside keeps that springy shrimp texture, so there's no need to fuss over them — you can just eat them as they are.

We also ordered fried spam as a side dish, and its salty flavor paired well with the beer. It was a good option to mix in when you want something other than chicken partway through the meal.

That day we also ordered a bottle of soju and sipped it slowly alongside the draft beer — the atmosphere of the place itself is great for a long, relaxed drinking session! Between the chicken, the fried sides, and the conversation, quite a bit of time had passed before we knew it.
