Craft beer pub in Gangseo, Seoul: Black Angry Bird chicken, Daily Beer

Today, after putting the kids to bed, I went with my husband to Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch (생활맥주 발산역점) near Balsan Station 🍺 I wasn't in the mood for anything fancy — just good chicken and a cold beer while chatting comfortably — and this place turned out to be perfect for exactly that mood haha.

What kind of pub is Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch?

Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch is a casual beer pub near Balsan Station, good for a light drink after work and just as good for chimaek (chicken and beer) with friends. On a nice-weather day like this one, sitting outside would have been amazing too 😆

But friends… the outdoor seats are super popular, of course 😂 When we arrived they were completely full, so we just sat inside haha. The interior had a slightly retro, hip vibe, and there was more space than I expected, so it seemed fine for a bigger group too!

There are a lot of companies around Magok, so by evening plenty of office workers were there enjoying their Friday after work 🍺 Nothing beats wrapping up the week with chicken and beer on a Friday night lol.

Being a craft beer bar, they had several draft taps set up. Every table also had wet wipes ready for you 🤣 Chimaek really only tastes right when you tear the chicken apart with your hands, so wipes are essential…!

Angry Bird chicken flavours and the craft beer menu at Daily Beer

As soon as we sat down we checked out the menu. Daily Beer has a good range of beer-friendly snacks, and the various Angry Bird chicken flavors especially caught my eye.

Beyond classic fried chicken, you can choose from Angry Bird Red, Black, Crunch, Sriracha, Honey Golden, and more depending on your taste.

There were other beer snacks too, and a good variety of craft beers from all around the country. We drank OB Beer, and it was really good — next time I want to order a sampler and try a bunch of different flavors!

How the half fried, half Black Angry Bird chicken tasted

We ordered a half-and-half so we could try two flavors at once: fried and Black Angry Bird!

Since this is a beer bar, I honestly wasn't expecting much from the chicken, but after trying it — oh… this place is actually a chicken spot 🥰 The batter was crispy all around, absolutely perfect with beer!

I usually always order fried chicken when I go to a chicken place, but that day the Black Angry Bird, which I wasn't expecting much from, was seriously, seriously delicious…! Salty with a rich savory depth, it kept pulling my hand back for more with the beer lol. If anything, I fell completely for the Black Angry Bird more than the fried that day 🤭 I think I'll order it again next time too!

Now I'm curious about the other sauce flavors too 😆 Next time I'll order a half-and-half with a different sauce! For now, Black Angry Bird gets a pass!

And the beer glass that day was wild! Instead of a regular beer mug, the beer came in a strange glass that looked like a measuring cup, and we both went huh? and laughed at first haha. The menu really said 500, and it really was exactly 500 lol.

Still, the glass was big enough that drinking it felt properly refreshing. Note: the cream foam on top is refillable!

Is Daily Beer Balsan Station Branch a good chicken-and-beer spot?

Between the good chicken and beer and all our chatting, the time flew by. Places like this are great because instead of agonizing over the menu, you just order a plate of chicken and a beer and settle in for a comfortable chat! (And honestly, the chicken is really that good…❤️)
