Even though we're a couple who cook at home a lot, sometimes we just crave eating out (ᴗ˳ᴗ)🍴

This time we went to Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch (퍼그피자하우스 신림점), near Sillim Station! You can try handmade pizzas with all kinds of toppings, and the pizza is delicious, of course, but the interior, the self bar and the dog-friendly facilities are all well thought out too. It's a great pizza place to visit with a dog, so if you have one, definitely go. The half-and-half combo we ordered was so good that I want to share what we ate and a few tips for enjoying it even more✨

What is the atmosphere like at Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch?

True to its name, the place is full of cute pug characters.

With a name like Pug Pizza House, there are cute pug characters all around the restaurant.

The interior uses wood and blue as accent colors, somewhere between a cozy café and an American pizza joint, and I personally really loved it 🤎💙

The space is big and the seating is varied, so it looked like a good spot for a date or a group get-together too.

Recommended order: fig + Mad Max half-and-half pizza set

At Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch, we went with the half-and-half pizza & side set, with a fig jambon-beurre (ham and butter) arugula pizza on one half and a Mad Max American on the other. There are so many kinds of pizza here that choosing takes real thought.

A mini salad came with the set, and eating some greens before the pizza was so nice .ᐟ.ᐟ.ᐟ The dressing was tasty and the vegetables were fresh.

Side dish: addictive corn cheese

The side we chose, the "drug" corn cheese (마약콘치즈, so called because it's addictive), was really great too 👍🏻 If you come to Pug Pizza House, order this!

Fig jambon-beurre arugula pizza

The fig jambon-beurre arugula pizza combines the sweetness of figs with salty ham and fragrant arugula. It felt like a brunch dish, and it was totally my taste ( ˘ ³˘)ෆ⸒⸒

My husband's pick: Mad Max American

My husband's pick was the Mad Max American! It's topped with pepperoni, bacon and other toppings, and it was a salty, rich pizza.

Alternating between the two, the sweet-and-salty combination was the best! It's the kind of taste that makes the beer go down easy 🍺 We were happy to enjoy two pizzas with different tastes at once, and I'd definitely recommend this half-and-half combo.

Two tips for enjoying Pug Pizza House pizza even more

While eating at Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch, we found two tasty combinations: dipping the whole cheese milk edge in chipotle sauce, and topping the pizza with corn cheese.

① Whole cheese milk edge + chipotle sauce

I switched the bagel edge to the whole cheese milk edge, and it was really good! With cheese inside, you can enjoy the crust all the way to the end. Dip it in the chipotle sauce from the self bar and you get a nutty, spicy flavor that's so good haha

② Pizza + corn cheese

The second tip is to put the corn cheese you ordered as a side on top of the pizza! Sweet, nutty corn cheese on the salty Mad Max pizza especially worked really well. Do try these two ways◠ ̫◠

A well-stocked self bar, from sauces to boxes for leftover pizza

The self bar at Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch has pickles, tableware and a variety of sauces, plus pizza boxes and bags so you can pack up leftovers yourself.

Another thing I liked at Pug Pizza House was the well-equipped self bar. Besides pickles and tableware, there were all sorts of sauces to go with the pizza.

What I especially liked was that pizza boxes and bags are provided for packing leftovers! You don't have to ask the staff, you just pack it yourself and take it home, and I loved that small touch of service.

What is the dog-friendly pet zone at Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch like?

The entire 3rd floor of Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch is a dog-only pet zone, separate from floors 1–2 used by regular guests.

Another feature of Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch is that the whole 3rd floor is a dog-friendly pet zone. It doesn't just let dogs in; it has good facilities for pets too.

I especially liked that there are lots of individual spaces separated by doors, so you can eat apart from other dogs. The dog self zone also had conveniences like dog cushions. I thought this would be a really good place to eat out with a dog! And since floors 1–2 for regular guests are separate from the dog-only 3rd floor, both dog owners and other guests can relax, which I liked even more.

Is it worth going back?

Pug Pizza House Sillim Branch had lots of trendy pizza options that aren't easy to find elsewhere, and services like the self bar are well done, so I think we'll be coming back whenever we want pizza -(ᵔᴥᵔ)❣️
