Charcoal cleansing balm for dry, blackhead-prone skin: HEEDA

What is the black charcoal cleansing balm texture like?

At first, I thought all cleansing balms would be white, but this one was black, perhaps because of its charcoal ingredients. The lid had a built-in spatula, and I used it after removing the plastic seal over the product.

It was a soft solid texture that picked up more than I expected with the spatula. As I massaged it with the warmth of my hands, it melted and spread smoothly. Even after melting, the black color remained, which made it convenient to see where I had applied it.

How did I check its makeup-cleansing power?

I tested it on the back of my hand with eye glitter, eyeshadow, and lipstick. As I rubbed a small amount in with my fingers, the balm melted and removed the color makeup. The remaining glitter came off cleanly after I wiped with a tissue, rinsed under running water, and dried my hand.

How did it feel after cleansing on dry skin?

I usually use an oil cleanser, but this one felt fresher and left less residue after washing. Even for my dry skin, it did not leave much tightness or irritation afterward, and it did not sting my eyes while I used it. The almost fragrance-free finish felt comfortable too.

What did I notice from daily use for blackhead concerns?

I used it because summer blackheads and whiteheads, plus the feeling that sunscreen was building up in my pores, bothered me. My observation was that blackheads seemed to look reduced after one use and with continued daily use. Still, this was how it felt on my own skin, and results may differ depending on skin condition.

Because of the black texture, it was easy to check the areas I had cleansed, so in my case, one wash felt sufficient.
