If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant in Yeouido with a good vibe and solid food quality, I've got a place for you. This time I visited Ilpum Yeouido Branch (일품 여의도점), where you can get everything from kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) to sushi, unagidon (eel rice bowl), and omakase. Honestly the restaurant is so clean and upscale-looking that it'd be a great pick for a day you want to treat someone. And it's not overly pricey either, so this is definitely a Yeouido restaurant I'd want to visit again!

Where is Ilpum Yeouido Branch, and what are its hours?

Ilpum Yeouido Branch is open Monday through Saturday, closed every Sunday. Lunch runs from 11am to 3pm with last order at 2pm. There's a break time from 3pm to 5:30pm, then dinner runs from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Dinner last order is 8pm, so keep that in mind if you're planning an evening visit.

The moment I walked in, the cleanliness of the place stood out to me. It's got an overall calm and upscale mood, so it'd work well for a meal with coworkers, and it'd also suit occasions like dates or family dinners where you want things to feel a bit more special.

Booking Ilpum Yeouido and the 2-hour free parking

You can book Ilpum Yeouido through Naver Place, and phone inquiries about reservations are also possible. There's no deposit required, and booking through Naver Reservation lets you check coupon benefits like free corkage for 1 bottle. That said, if there's a following reservation or a waitlist, your meal time may be limited to 1 hour 30 minutes from your reservation time.

If you're driving, free parking is available for up to 2 hours. Yeouido is an area where parking fees can add up, so getting 2 hours free while you eat felt like a nice bonus to me.

What is on the menu at Ilpum Yeouido?

Ilpum Yeouido serves a wide range of Japanese dishes including kaisendon topped with a variety of fresh seafood, sushi, and unagidon. There's an omakase menu too, but you don't have to order omakase — you can order kaisendon or sushi as standalone dishes and still get quality Japanese food at a reasonable price.

We ordered kaisendon and salmon sushi this time. And after ordering, we found out the included set was way more generous than expected... haha

The kaisendon and everything that comes with it

First up, one of Ilpum's signature dishes — the kaisendon! Various types of seafood piled colorfully in one bowl, and just looking at it, the seafood clearly looked fresh.

The sashimi quality was great when I actually tasted it, and getting to try several types at once means kaisendon lovers would be satisfied. The kaisendon itself was delicious, but what I loved even more was how packed the accompanying set was. It comes standard with cold udon, soup, chawanmushi, and dessert.

Chawanmushi is Japanese-style steamed egg custard, and it pairs nicely as a side before the main dish. At first the portion didn't look like much, but eating through it all, I ended up truly full haha. Felt like a proper full meal!

Salmon sushi at Ilpum: taste and portion size

The salmon sushi we ordered alongside also had good sashimi quality, so I enjoyed it. Personally I think sushi ultimately comes down to how good the fish on top is, and both the kaisendon and the salmon sushi had seafood quality I was really happy with overall.

And the salmon sushi portion was also quite substantial, so I walked out truly full.

Is Ilpum Yeouido a good place to host guests?

Visiting Ilpum Yeouido Branch in person, both the food and the atmosphere left me satisfied. What I especially liked was that even though there's a fully-arranged option like omakase, you don't need to pick a high-priced menu — standalone dishes like kaisendon or sushi are more than enough for a solid meal.

The restaurant is clean and upscale, so it could be a good option when you want to treat your parents or someone close to a meal without too much price pressure, or for a date or an important meal — all while keeping the cost reasonable.
