Home glass cleaner for mirrors and windshields: AutoGrooming Clean View

I had only heard the name oil-film remover before, and this was my first time actually using one. I started with the bathroom mirror and shower booth at home using an AutoGrooming product, then tried it on my car windshield too.

What was included, and in what order did I use it?

When I opened the plastic packaging, there was the oil-film remover and a cloth inside.

The instructions were to remove dirt from the surface, apply the oil-film remover, rub it in, and rinse. I applied it directly to the glass, but later heard that squeezing it onto the cloth first would be easier. Since it was my first time, I was a little clumsy even with the application method.

How did it work on the bathroom mirror and shower booth?

Before using it on the car, I decided to clean the bathroom mirror and shower booth first.

First, I sprayed water to wet the surface evenly.

I applied the product from the top down. I wondered whether this was the right way to do it, but I went ahead and applied it directly, then rubbed it in.

The surface turned cloudy as I rubbed in the product. I worked on the right and lower areas too, but since this was my first time, it did not go especially smoothly.

Once I was done rubbing, I rinsed it with water.

After rinsing, the mirror looked much clearer and cleaner, so I was pleased.

I liked the result, so I continued on to the main bedroom bathroom. I rubbed it in and rinsed with water here too, and the mirror and shower booth looked clean.

At the end, I removed the remaining water too. After finishing, I realized I needed to rinse the floor well with water as well. The product can leave a white residue, so the cleanup needs attention too.

Was the car windshield as easy to clean as the mirror?

Next was the car windshield. I had not washed the car for quite a while, so I went to my parents' house to do the job where I could use water.

After spraying plenty of water onto the windshield, I started applying the product.

I applied it directly to the car as well. I did not want to use up the included cloth, so I rubbed it with one I already had separately.

The car windshield did not come clean in one go as easily as the mirror at home. Still, the repeated rubbing itself was not especially difficult.

After rubbing, I sprayed water over it to rinse.

Once rinsed, the windshield looked clean and shiny.

What did I think after trying an oil-film remover for the first time?

I had never used another oil-film remover, so it was difficult to compare products. From my first-time perspective, I liked being able to clean the mirror and car windshield without using much force. However, the car windshield was harder to clean in one pass than the bathroom mirror, and the bathroom job needed a final rinse of the floor too.
