Yeonnam-dong pasta spot, last table 5 min before opening: Hey Joji
In short
Hey Joji (헤이죠지) is a Western restaurant with the feel of an American home, tucked into an alley in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. The writer arrived 5 minutes before the 12:00 opening, got Hey Joji's last table, and ordered the Cajun shrimp rosé pasta and the jambalaya rosé risotto. The two rosé dishes tasted different enough that neither got boring, and the firm, al dente jambalaya rosé risotto was the standout.

I recently went to Hey Joji (헤이죠지), a Western-style restaurant in Yeonnam-dong with great atmosphere, and had a really good meal! The mood was lovely and the food was so delicious that I left in a great mood. So here's my story about Hey Joji in Yeonnam-dong, take a look~!

What's the atmosphere like at Hey Joji in Yeonnam-dong?
Hey Joji is a cozy Western restaurant that feels like an American home, and you reach it by walking straight back into the Yeonnam-dong alleys. It's snug and warm, and it even has a bit of a Christmas market vibe, so I wanted to go back at the end of the year, the mood looked that good haha
Hey Joji waiting: should you go right at opening?
Hey Joji opens at 12:00, and even though I got there at 11:55, it was already full of customers. I thought, "Phew, I barely made it!" haha The last time I came here on my own dime, I waited over 30 minutes! So definitely go right at opening if you want to eat in comfort!

Anyway, there was no wait this time! I grabbed the last table and just barely got a seat! If I'd been 5 minutes later, I think I'd have waited a long time..! I was shown to a seat right away when I went in haha

Hey Joji's interior and date-night mood
The inside of Hey Joji is super cozy and charming too! Just being there felt exotic. Groups of friends were gathered having get-togethers, and it's a cozy place I'd really like to come to at the end or start of a year!
The little objects all over the place are so pretty that it's fun just to look around! It also looked great for a blind date or a date course haha

How to order at Hey Joji and what we ordered
You order at Hey Joji with the QR code on the table! The menu is detailed, so I agonized for a while over what to eat, and in the end I ordered these!
- Cajun shrimp rosé pasta
- Jambalaya rosé risotto
- Coke Zero
I was definitely hungry, but the portions at Hey Joji are big! This much was just right, filling and very good haha Good to know~!

After you order, they set the table piece by piece! Just looking at the cute objects and tableware made me happy haha The staff were very kind too! It was cozy, and I could stay and enjoy myself~ The one catch is that the food takes a while to come out!

How does the Cajun shrimp rosé pasta taste?
I ordered both the Cajun shrimp rosé pasta and the jambalaya rosé risotto in rosé, and they taste subtly different from each other, so nothing got boring and I enjoyed the whole meal haha When the food arrived a little later, it was beautifully plated and looked so tasty! I knew I'd enjoy it!

The noodles in the Cajun shrimp rosé pasta are springy and delicious, so great for slurping! The Western food at Hey Joji was the best I've had recently, and I honestly lost myself and finished the whole meal...hahaha

What's the texture of the jambalaya rosé risotto like?
The jambalaya rosé risotto at Hey Joji has distinct grains of rice and a very chewy, firm texture. So if you like proper risotto, you'll be really happy with a meal at Hey Joji! I like that firm texture too, so I really!! enjoyed this meal!

Before I knew it, the plates were scraped clean.. hahaha I wondered why anyone would even need a dishwasher!! That's how deliciously I cleaned my plates at Hey Joji!

Is Hey Joji in Yeonnam-dong worth going back to?
No regrets at all. I ate good-quality Western food that was tasty and filling, and it let me end the weekend on a high note~! Great atmosphere.. and the food is also great value and delicious, so Hey Joji was a Yeonnam-dong spot where I had a really good meal!
