Pyeongnae-Hopyeong samgyeopsal restaurant: 680g Set 2 at Chodaebak
In short
Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch is a frozen pork belly restaurant in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, certified to sell Dodram Korean pork. On a second visit the order was Set 2 (49,000 won): 680g in total of naengsam (frozen pork belly), kkotmoksal (marbled pork neck) and woo-samgyeop (sliced beef brisket), with steamed egg, minari and king oyster mushroom, plus free pork skin as a review perk. Everything that impressed on the first visit held up, so Set 2 is the sensible pick for a group of three or four.

There are some restaurants that stay on your mind even after just one visit. Today I'm introducing Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch.
A second visit to Chodaebak Naengsam in Pyeongnae-Hopyeong

I still remembered how good the thinly grilled naengsam (frozen pork belly), minari, and kimchi were from my last visit, so I decided to come back. I was curious whether the satisfaction from my first visit would carry over into the second — so if you're looking for a pork belly restaurant in Pyeongnae-Hopyeong, here's my revisit review.

Why the Dodram Korean pork certification matters

When I go to a barbecue restaurant, I tend to check what meat is used and where it's from rather than just looking at the price. Naengsam isn't a dish you eat for seasoning — you can immediately taste the fat and any off-flavor in the meat itself, so I think the quality of the raw meat matters more here. Being able to check information about the Korean pork used right in front of the store gave me more confidence even before ordering. 👍👍
Ordering Set 2, the 680g set for three or four
I ordered Set 2: 2 servings of naengsam + 1 serving of kkotmoksal + 1 serving of woo-samgyeop, 680g total, plus steamed egg, minari, and king oyster mushroom included for free.

Ordering everything à la carte would come to ₩51,600, but the set price is ₩49,000, so for a table of 3–4 wanting to try several cuts, ordering the set looked like the better value.
Grilling bracken and bean sprouts alongside the pork belly

At a naengsam restaurant, I also pay attention to how varied the side dishes are, not just the meat — naengsam is thin and the fat renders quickly, so fresh vegetables like lettuce or scallion shreds really help make it enjoyable. They served a good variety of side dishes from the start, and you could grab more from the self-serve bar if you ran out, which was satisfying for our household since we eat a lot of vegetables and sides.
What lands on the table: naengsam, kkotmoksal, woo-samgyeop and minari
The thinly sliced naengsam, kkotmoksal, and woo-samgyeop cuts came on one plate, along with king oyster mushroom, potato, and fresh minari.

The steamed egg included in the set was so good we finished every bit of it.

The kkotmoksal was the most popular — it was thicker and wider than the naengsam. For a group of 3–4, Set 2 was a good choice not just for the price but for the chance to try a variety of cuts.
Free pork skin as a review perk

Pork skin can turn tough if cooked too long, so I liked it best when the outside got slightly crispy while the inside stayed chewy-soft. If you're debating whether to order one more menu item after finishing your meat, keep an eye out for their review events too.
Coming back a second time, I was even more satisfied since everything I liked on my first visit was still there 👍 With a good variety of side dishes and minari, bracken, and bean sprouts all grillable together, it was a satisfying pork belly restaurant in Pyeongnae-Hopyeong.
