The restaurant is only 141 meters from Sanghyeon Station, so it is an easy walk, and you can park in the building's underground car park for 2 hours. I went to Gwanggyo with my husband for lamb for the first time in a while, and I had been so curious about this place because they say the meat has never been frozen haha😂

With 2 hours of underground parking and the station so close, it's really easy to get to🤓 There are lots of good restaurants around here, so it was quite crowded too💗

Is Hwaro Yangmi good for group dinners and get-togethers?

The inside of Hwaro Yangmi was clean, with partitions between tables, so it felt like a good spot for a get-together🥺

I had made a reservation, so we were shown to our table right away❗️ We came at an in-between time, but because it was a holiday there were quite a few customers✨

I could see the meat aging fridge at the entrance, and the country-of-origin labels were neat and easy to read😉 Aged meat? It can't possibly taste bad, right? 💖

What we ordered at Hwaro Yangmi

This day at Hwaro Yangmi we ordered the special mixed set, egg fried rice and beef noodle soup. We'd had an early brunch and were hungry, so my husband and I decided to really stuff ourselves for once, with a mixed set to try several cuts plus sides haha🤣

At Hwaro Yangmi the staff grill the meat all the way to the end, which was so convenient😂 I'm honestly not good at grilling, and between chatting and eating I get so flustered that I tend to avoid BBQ places, but here there was none of that worry.

The special mixed set comes with shoulder rack, lamb loin and marinated mini ribs😉 It's a great lineup, and once everything was grilled, the staff explained each cut again, which I loved🤭

Eating only meat can get greasy, right? 🤨 But with side dishes like chili peppers, onions, peanuts and cabbage, there's no time to get tired of it❗️

Never-frozen fresh lamb: any gamey smell?

The meat was grilled so well that the charcoal aroma shot up with the very first bite💗 The meat tasted even nuttier and more delicious🥺

They say the meat has never been frozen, and maybe that's why there's none of that typical lamb smell, and it gets nuttier the more you chew😉

Salt or cumin: which dip suits the lamb better?

You can enjoy the lamb at Hwaro Yangmi two ways, with salt or with cumin (zira), and personally I like it with salt, which is clean and never gets boring haha🤣

The surprise hit: marinated mini lamb ribs

Honestly the marinated mini ribs were the cut I expected least, and they were the real kick, though of course the other dishes were better than expected😂 The marinade itself is salty and goes perfectly with rice, so I recommend adding a bowl of steamed rice to eat with them🤭

It's a flavor even lamb beginners can fully enjoy✨

Sides: egg fried rice and beef noodle soup

I ordered the egg fried rice as an extra because we hadn't had any rice that day, and it goes so well with the meat😇 The seasoning isn't too strong either, so it's nutty and delicious💖

The beef noodle soup (소고기온면) is the side I'd absolutely recommend at Hwaro Yangmi❗️ The weather had turned chilly and I wanted some broth, so I ordered it, and it was a total kick❤️

The noodles are especially chewy and the broth keeps pulling you back, and alternating with the meat makes an amazing combination😘 Thanks for the great meal!
