Seoul coffee shop where aroma shifts from grind to cup: Central Site

In short

Central Site Yeonnam is a three-floor roastery café on Yeonhui-ro in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, specialising in hand drip with a specialty brewing lineup of more than 10 beans, Geisha included. The writer ordered the Colombia Geisha Peach Punch at 12,000 won and the Guatemala Entre Volcanes at 8,000 won along with a café latte, an americano and classic tiramisu, and found it genuinely fun to smell how each bean's aroma changed once ground and again once brewed. With a brewing bar on the first floor, hall tables on the second and a rooftop on the third, Central Site Yeonnam works just as well for a Yeonnam-dong coffee date.

The look of the café and smelling the beans before brewing

Sleek, atmospheric interior of Central Site Yeonnam

The vibe at Central Site Yeonnam is really great — sleek, hip, and full of atmosphere.

Hand-drip coffee being brewed at the bar

It's a lot of fun being able to watch the beans get brewed right in front of you.

Smelling the ground Colombia Geisha beans

You can also smell the aroma — the finely ground beans smell really, really good. The Colombia one had such a strong peach scent, it genuinely surprised me.

Checking the aroma of the freshly brewed drip coffee

After the drip coffee was brewed, I smelled it once more, and the aroma had changed again — such a charming detail.

Floor by floor: brewing bar, hall and rooftop at Central Site Yeonnam

Central Site Yeonnam is spread across three floors, and each floor had a totally different charm.

1st floor: brewing bar and roasting lab

The moment you walk in, the place is filled with a nutty bean aroma. There's a bar table where you can watch the baristas carefully brew hand-drip coffee right in front of you — genuinely charming. Since a professional roaster does the roasting and QC in-house, you really feel the expertise.

2nd floor: natural-mood hall tables

Head up to the 2nd floor and you'll find a spacious, comfortable table area, perfect for chatting. The greenery visible outside is really pretty.

3rd floor: the rooftop

With the weather this nice these days, there's also a perfectly set-up rooftop space to enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out over Yeonnam-dong.

Taste notes: Guatemala, café latte, Geisha and tiramisu

Two hand-drip coffees and other drinks on the table
A spread of hand-drip coffee and tiramisu

We ordered and enjoyed two hand-drip coffees, a couple of basic drinks, and the signature tiramisu.

☕️ Guatemala Entre Volcanes 2026 Washed (my personal #1) — Clean, with a perfect balance of acidity and nuttiness. From the first sip you could taste the deep flavor of the bean itself; this was my favorite.

☕️ Café latte (my personal #2) — The harmony between the smooth milk and the rich espresso shot was really good. The nuttiness stood out, making it a flavor almost anyone would like.

☕️ Colombia Finca Quebraditas Geisha Washed – Peach Punch — The moment it touched my lips, an intense peach aroma swept past my nose, giving off a really luxurious feel. This one would be a perfect match for anyone who loves showy fruity notes.

☕️ Americano — Clean, and perfect alongside dessert. An americano is hard to get wrong.

Classic tiramisu with americano

🎂 Classic tiramisu — The moist mascarpone cheese, the bittersweet cocoa powder, and the coffee-soaked sponge came together perfectly. Instantly understood why it's a steady bestseller. It had a strangely whiskey-like note to it, which was refreshingly new.

Is Central Site Yeonnam worth a visit?

If you want to try proper specialty hand-drip coffee and rich tiramisu in Yeonnam-dong, I'd absolutely recommend Central Site Yeonnam.

Interior of Central Site Yeonnam with spacious floor layouts

Watching the brewing process at the 1st-floor bar is fun on its own, and the space is generously laid out floor by floor, so I'd also recommend it as a date spot in Hongdae or Yeonnam-dong. With such a wide variety of beans, there's a lot of fun in picking one that suits your taste — definitely worth a visit!
