I was in Hongdae for the first time in a while and stopped by Pasta Go Hongdae Branch, a pasta spot that's been trending on social media for its value. Prices have shot up so much lately that a bowl of pasta easily runs ₩15,000 to ₩20,000, but this place is a government-certified "Good Price Business" (착한가격업소) chosen by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, so I'd wanted to try it for a while. Verdict: price, mood and taste all check out. A great-value Hongdae restaurant!

It sits toward the Object building by Gyeongui Line Forest Park, on the alley leading to Wonshin Café, so it's easy to drop in while strolling around Hongdae.
You can't wait on the stairs or in front of the neighboring building, so if there's a line, I highly recommend a walk along Gyeongui Line Forest Park in the meantime!!!
Pasta Go Hongdae Branch atmosphere: good for a first date?
Pasta Go Hongdae Branch is a casual space that fits Hongdae's young, free-spirited vibe. The place is pleasant and the lighting isn't too bright, so I think it works for a blind date.

It's fine for solo diners who want a relaxed meal, friends getting together, or couples after a light date. The mood is easygoing, so I'd strongly recommend it as a low-pressure Hongdae date spot! ❤️

The colors are cute and pretty. As you'd expect from a Hongdae place with great value, I saw lots of young students.

Self-bar, buzzer and returning your own dishes
The kitchen was very clean, and the self-bar has tissues, bowls, pickles and water.
There's a review event too! I love churros, but I was too full to do the review event... that's my tragedy,,

When you order, you get a buzzer, pick up the food yourself, and return your dishes when you're done. I guess saving on labor costs this way is how they keep prices even kinder?
Pasta Go Hongdae Branch menu and prices with 20% off
At the time of my visit they were running a 20% dine-in and takeout discount, so the shrimp toowoomba pasta was ₩11,920 and the mini pizza ₩4,400, which made the value explode even more. The menu is wide: pastas, risotto, steak, mini pizzas and sides.

- Shrimp toowoomba pasta: ₩11,920 (20% off the regular ₩14,900)
- Hot rosé chicken risotto: ₩12,720 (20% off the regular ₩15,900)
- Sweet potato pizza (mini): ₩4,400 (20% off the regular ₩5,500)
- Gorgonzola pizza (mini): ₩4,400 (20% off the regular ₩5,500)
Even after ordering two mains and two mini pizzas, the total was super kind..! It came to about ₩35,000.. There are also combo sets like the solo set (₩14,625) and the steak set for two (₩42,375), so it's easy to pick what suits you.
How were the shrimp toowoomba and hot rosé chicken risotto?
Cooking time after ordering was quick, so the food came out piping hot. The presentation is cute and trendy.

Shrimp toowoomba pasta
As Pasta Go's signature favorite, the shrimp toowoomba pasta (a creamy, spicy pasta) looked mouthwatering from the first glance. It has a thick, rich cream sauce with a slight kick that cuts the heaviness, so you keep slurping it up to the end. We chose slightly spicy and it was just right.

It's loaded with plump, big whole shrimp and chewy mushrooms, so the texture is top notch.

Hot rosé chicken risotto
The hot rosé chicken risotto had a really impressive flavor: a smooth yet tangy rosé sauce. It's generous with chicken thigh and mushrooms, and the rice, mixed with vegetables, is moistly soaked in rich rosé sauce, so the savory depth is great!!

It pairs wonderfully with the shrimp toowoomba pasta, so I'd strongly recommend it if you like rosé sauce! Toowoomba and rosé look similar but taste different, and both are slightly spicy, so they're less heavy than you'd expect.

Sweet potato pizza (mini)
The mini sweet potato pizza at ₩4,400 is an unbelievably good-value treat! Sweet, smooth sweet potato paste sits on freshly baked dough, the textbook sweet-and-salty. Think of it as an even sweeter sweet potato mousse? And the mini is not that mini. Two slices for ₩4,400 is a bargain,,

Gorgonzola pizza (mini)
The mini gorgonzola pizza really brought out the nutty, salty flavor of gorgonzola cheese. Dipped in the sweet honey served alongside, it's a perfect match with the crispy dough. Recommended if you want a strong cheese flavor!
Pasta Go Hongdae Branch: final thoughts

Living up to its reputation as a Good Price Business designated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Pasta Go Hongdae Branch exceeded expectations in price, taste, portions and service! In these high-price times, I don't think there are many Hongdae restaurants where you can enjoy pasta, risotto and pizza of this quality at this price.

With food that's cooked fast like fast food and a clean, pretty interior, I recommend it as an ideal spot for a light meal with a friend or a Hongdae date with your partner. If you want to enjoy tasty Hongdae pasta without worrying about the bill, give it a visit!
