In short
Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch (진달래실비 사당점) is a retro imo-kase pub, where the cook picks the dishes, on the 2nd floor of a building near Exit 7 of Sadang Station in Dongjak, Seoul. What is Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch like?
Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch (진달래실비 사당점) is a pub in Sadang famous for its "imo-kase" and "samchon-kase" style (omakase-like spreads, with an aunt or uncle feel). I'd been twice before and this was my third revisit, haha. The value for the price is great and every dish is tasty, which is why I keep coming back!

Location and opening hours of Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch
The address is 70 Dongjak-daero 7-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, 2nd floor. It is open 18:00–24:00 (last order 23:00) and closed every Sunday.

It's only 294 m from Exit 7 of Sadang Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport! It's on the 2nd floor of a building like this.

Retro vibes right from the entrance :)

Is the inside good for group gatherings?
The interior is retro too, and designed for drinking. The place is huge with lots of tables, so groups and get-togethers are totally doable!!

Jindallae Course price and the after-8pm course
The signature menu is the 15-dish Jindallae Course at ₩39,000 per person. We ordered it for two! After 8 pm you can also have a lighter 6-dish version for ₩20,000 per person, so it seems fine as a second stop too.
Birthday party perks
I heard that for birthday guests they sing a birthday song and bring seaweed soup (miyeokguk)! Great for a birthday party, right~?

Actually, I held my birthday party here last year lol. They took our photo with an instant camera, hehe
What dishes come with the Jindallae Course?
The first round of the table was set the moment we sat down!! Even with only part of it out, it's already generous. Let me show you in detail 👍🏻
Seasoned soft tofu
Seasoned soft tofu (yeondubu)! I love soft tofu, so I was happy to see it!! The tofu was silky and the soy sauce seasoning was a bit salty, easy and smooth to eat!
Abalone porridge

Abalone porridge also came out as an appetizer to get your appetite going! It smelled nicely of sesame oil, piping hot and delicious, so I shoveled it in
Pink sausage

Pink sausage~~ It isn't a fancy taste, but it's a nostalgic childhood flavor, so I like it lol

A dip in ketchup and nom nom nom
Japchae
Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) came out too, perfect for filling up on carbs, right~?

It was freshly stir-fried and warm, with the sweet seasoning soaked in well. Overall, the quality of every single dish is high!
Soy sauce marinated crab
Next is soy sauce marinated crab (ganjang gejang)! The friend I went with can't eat raw crab, so both were mine haha. See how plump the meat is...? One bite fills your mouth, wow, it's pure heaven. It wasn't too salty and the seasoning was good.
Spicy stir-fried pork
Spicy-sweet stir-fried pork (jeyuk bokkeum)!! It's moderately spicy, so it's great to alternate with the other dishes~?

The meat was tender with no gamey smell at all, so good.. ♥️
Bossam and kimchi
The bossam (boiled pork wraps) came as 6 slices for two people, and each slice is fairly big, so it's quite a lot! The radish kimchi (musaengchae) and the wrap kimchi (bossam kimchi) served with it were awesome too

The bossam came warm and the meat was tender. Not a single side dish here is made halfheartedly..
Aged sashimi
Next is the aged sashimi!! At this point all I can say is that the value is crazy lol. Of all the imo-kase places I've been to, Jindallae Silbi has the biggest portions and the most variety.

See how thick and huge the slices are? It's well aged, chewy yet tender, just insanely good...

The salmon looks amazing. And there's really, really a lot!! Looks like I'm getting wasted again today!!!!
So generous, right?!!! I was full from this alone, but the food keeps coming after this....^^
Seafood steam

The seafood steam came out and I was overwhelmed by how it looked, wow. Whole squid, shrimp, scallops, and even steamed fish, all done properly!! The squid especially was so tender and delicious~~~
Old-style pork cutlet

Crispy, tasty pork cutlet with gyeongyangsik (Japanese-influenced Western-style diner) sauce! Maybe because it's samchon-kase, all the guys' soul foods really do show up, right? lol

You can see the thick meat here too, right~? Freshly fried and crispy, need I say more, so good lol
Minari pancake
Minari pancake (water dropwort jeon) comes out too, with very little flour and packed with minari! The savory vegetable aroma is nice and the outside is crispy~
Ugh, but I'm so full, boss. I usually eat a lot, and the portions here are really big. By this point you'll be clutching your belly.
Flounder tangsu
I'm about to burst, but I can't resist grilled flounder~

The fish meat was plump and tender. Topped with the sweet-and-sour tangsu sauce, it's insanely good
Finishing with fish roe stew
The finish is a spicy fish roe stew (altang)!!! This isn't a small portion either, it comes out generous like a main dish at other pubs 🥹

I'm full, but it's so spicy and refreshing that I keep eating. The broth is cool and rich, so good. Oh, and there's also rice and ramen noodles at the self bar at Jindallae Silbi, so help yourself if you need them. I was too full to even think of it, haha

Jindallae Silbi's dalgona game event
Partway through, Jindallae Silbi gives you a dalgona (honeycomb candy) game, and if you succeed, one drink is free!! I failed, but it was such a fun event lol
Is Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch worth going back to?
Want a generous, good-value table of drinks in Sadang~? I highly recommend Jindallae Silbi 👍🏻👍🏻 The food keeps coming, which is hard to believe for ₩39,000, and above all you can feel that no dish is made halfheartedly, so I was really satisfied!! Even on my third visit, I'm already wondering when I can go next!!!! I confidently recommend it as a great-value Sadang pub 🩷
