What should you eat before a movie at Cheonan Shinsegae?

Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae is a pizza shop on the 4th floor of Building B at Shinsegae Department Store Cheonan-Asan, right in front of the CGV. This time I went with my friends and my boyfriend, four of us in total, to see Toy Story 5 at Shinsegae Cheonan-Asan 🙂

We had a little time before the movie started, so we wondered what to eat and ended up at Clap Pizza, right in front of CGV. It's easy to eat lightly before or after a movie, and it's convenient to drop by while shopping, so I could see right away why so many people come here ..❤︎

Where is Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae?

Clap Pizza is in the 4th-floor food street of Building B at Shinsegae Department Store Cheonan-Asan, right in front of the CGV cinema, so even first-timers can find it quickly. It's good for a simple meal before a movie, and the location is handy if you're stopping by while shopping.

Since it's a food court, there's plenty of seating, so it felt easy to come with a group.

Half-and-half pizza: two flavors in one

What we ordered at Clap Pizza was the half-and-half pizza in size L. The menu is so varied that I agonized for ages, but we finally went with half-and-half, and this is what we picked.

Being able to enjoy two flavors on one pie makes it the most satisfying order when you come with several people. Half-and-half comes in R or L size, so it's easy to order to your taste.

Self bar and drink refills

The self bar at Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae was kept neat. Plates, forks and knives were set out so you could take as many as you needed, and drinks were self-serve too.

When you eat in, you can refill your drink as many times as you like, so we kept sipping something cold while we chatted, which I loved. It's a small thing, but a perk like this quietly makes you happy.

How were the garlic shrimp and cheese pizzas?

The first thing I noticed when the pizza came out was that the crust was really good. It's a thin style so it isn't heavy, yet it's chewy all the way to the edge, so even the crust alone tasted great.

The cheese pizza had a rich cheese flavor just as the name says, and the toppings were generous, so it never felt bland. On the garlic shrimp, the plump shrimp and the garlic aroma went so well together that we kept reaching for more. The toppings weren't skimped on overall, so it was satisfying even for four people.

My friends kept saying, "It's way better than I expected." "I think I'll be craving this when I get home." That was all they talked about 😂

The garlic sauce was a surprisingly great match

The pizza was plenty tasty on its own, but dipping it in the garlic sauce had a whole different charm. A gentle garlic aroma comes up and brings out the savory flavor of the pizza, and personally it was my favorite combination.

The cheese pizza especially, eaten with garlic aioli, felt richer in flavor, so I never got tired of it and enjoyed it to the end.

Why the food court makes it even better

One of the things I liked about Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae is that it's inside the Shinsegae food court. We didn't just eat pizza: we also had tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and bought a chicken skewer to share.

Being able to eat several dishes together at one table is the food court's own advantage. I think it would work well even if you come with friends who all like different things.

Atmosphere and how to use Clap Pizza in Cheonan

The Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae shop is open-style so it doesn't feel stuffy, and thanks to Clap Pizza's stylish interior it stood out quickly even from far away.

After ordering, you pick up your food yourself, and when you finish you take it to the return zone. It's a self-service system, so it was simple to use.

Worth going back to for a pre-movie meal?

I stopped by just to eat lightly before the movie, and Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae was far more satisfying than I expected 🙂 The crust was chewy and the toppings generous, so I enjoyed it down to the last slice, and the thin style made it easy to eat before a movie without feeling heavy.

Because it's in the food court, it's great for eating alongside other dishes, and it would also work for a quick meal while shopping or for taking a pizza home. Next time I shop at Shinsegae Cheonan-Asan or come for a CGV movie, I'll probably stop by Clap Pizza again ❤︎
