Sokcho ramen restaurant with a second bowl of butadon: Ichiba Ramen

Ichiba Ramen is a Japanese ramen restaurant on Jungang-ro in Sokcho, Gangwon, open daily 09:00-21:00 with no break time and no closed days. After a day at Deungdae Beach, one family ordered tonkotsu ramen (9,000 won), karai ramen (9,500 won) and butadon (4,500 won, pork rice bowl) for an early dinner, then added a second butadon because the kids loved it. Ichiba Ramen worked for everyone from a teenager to the youngest child, making it an easy family meal in Sokcho.

Munjeong lunch spot for mushroom pot rice and nurungji: Gome Mui

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is a pot rice specialty Japanese restaurant on basement level 1 of Tera Tower Building A, right by Munjeong Station in Songpa, Seoul. Over lunch with her sister, the writer ordered the perilla oil mushroom pot rice for 14,000 won and the steak pot rice for 16,000 won, eating them with chive soy sauce, seaweed, wasabi and salted pollock roe before turning the leftover rice into nurungji (crispy scorched rice). For a filling, gently seasoned meal near Munjeong Station, Gome Mui is a solid choice.
