Sharosu-gil gyukatsu and steki sets on a weekday dinner: Izawa
Izawa Sharosugil Branch is a gyukatsu (beef cutlet) and steki (steak) Japanese restaurant on the second floor at the entrance of Sharosu-gil, by Seoul National University Station in Gwanak, Seoul. On a weekday evening the writer and a close friend ordered one gyukatsu set and one steki set, 18,000 won each, grilled the meat themselves on a mini charcoal stove and shared both plates, with the peanut sauce and the pink salt with wasabi coming out best. Since diners set their own doneness and the staff keep swapping in fresh grills and solid fuel, Izawa works well for two people splitting two sets.
