Orange Bagel: the drinks and the vibe beat the bagels

Orange Bagel, a bakery café in Suwon, has tons of bagel varieties, but honestly I think the drinks are even tastier and the atmosphere is even better. I've heard the brunch is good too, so I'll have to try that next time. In summer, the second floor of Orange Bagel beats a Gangwon-do beach for healing and vacation vibes — I was genuinely happy up there haha.

This large café in Suwon has a warm yet stylish look, with red exposed brick, deep orange tones, and vintage wood coming together for a lively bagel-shop atmosphere. Orange accents on the walls, along with quirky posters and text lettering, give the whole space a playful, sensory feel. And really, a great restaurant needs easy parking to make you want to come back — the very spacious parking lot greeted us, and this Suwon bakery café put me in a good mood the moment I saw it.

First floor: bagel display and goods corner

On the first floor of this large Suwon café, there's a big central bagel display zone and the drink order counter. A variety of bagels are neatly lined up for a nice visual, and on one side there's a separate goods zone selling Orange Bagel's signature character merchandise and brand goods.

The summer-only patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) looks delicious too~

Orange Bagel says they knead high-protein Canadian flour and flavorful French flour in their own secret ratio, making bagels that are chewier and more satisfying to bite into. They say they pay close attention to aging and fermentation and stick to traditional baking methods.

Orange Bagel has a wide range of bagels, and seeing such a huge, varied quantity on display made me wonder — if any are left over, do the staff get to eat them for free? That's how many bagels were displayed, in so many types. I guess that means a lot of customers come through.

A variety of cream cheeses to pair with the bagels are also prepared. There's honey lemon, orange, and plain cream cheese, as well as olive and basil cream cheese.

Between the salty Laugen bagel halves sits a thick slab of high-quality butter that melts softly in your mouth, maximizing the savory flavor even further. The saltiness of the coarse pearl salt and the creaminess of the butter combine for a flavor that's not overly sweet but never gets old. The kids said it was delicious, and our 7-year-old twins finished the whole thing — my husband and I never even got a bite.

Jeju matcha latte

The Jeju matcha latte at this large Suwon café is a latte that balances the bitter yet deep flavor of Jeju matcha with rich, savory milk. It's not overly sweet, and the pleasant bitterness and umami of the matcha lingers nicely, making it a good match for a sweet or savory meal-style bagel. The deep green of the matcha layers softly with the milk, and it pairs well with Orange Bagel's hip, red vintage-toned interior.

Real choco latte

The real choco latte at this large Suwon café isn't watery at all — the deep natural sweetness of cacao blends with smooth milk for a silky, rich body. Soft whipped cream on top makes it extra satisfying on days when you're craving something sweet or need a sugar boost. It's easy for anyone, kids to adults, to enjoy, and both the hot and iced versions have their own distinct charm.
