Haeundae bakery café, weekday queue: egg tart & cookie, Low & Sweet
In short
Low & Sweet Bakery is a bakery café on Haeri-dan-gil in Haeundae, Busan, about a 3-minute walk from Haeundae Station Exit 4, selling egg tarts, financiers, madeleines, canelés, cookies and croissants baked fresh every morning. Even on a weekday there was a queue at Low & Sweet Bakery, and the writer took home an egg tart, plain and chocolate financiers, and a chocolate chip cookie. With a crisp shell and custard that isn't heavy, the Low & Sweet egg tart makes the bakery an easy recommendation for egg tarts near Haeundae Station.

What does Low & Sweet look like from outside?

The clean white exterior of Low & Sweet really stands out. There's a bench out front, and overall it felt like a small, vintage-style café.
Inside and the outdoor terrace: is there a wait on weekdays?

Inside Low & Sweet, white tones mixed with wood furniture made it feel clean and cozy. It was a weekday, but there were really a lot of customers, even a queue.
There's also an outdoor terrace at the back, with green chairs and plants. On a nice day, it would be lovely to have a coffee out there.
What kinds of baked goods does Low & Sweet have?

Low & Sweet has bread and baked sweets freshly baked every morning. From financiers, madeleines and canelés (small caramelized French cakes) to cookies and croissants, there was so much variety that I struggled to choose.
I'd heard the egg tart is especially famous, so I really wanted to try it. Along with the egg tart, I picked out a financier and a cookie and took them home. ✌️😁✌️
How does the Low & Sweet egg tart taste?

The Low & Sweet egg tart was crisp on the outside and really soft inside. From the first bite, the moist custard cream melts in your mouth, and the rich egg flavor and nutty taste go together so well.
The cream is soft but not heavy, so you keep reaching for more. I could see why this place is famous for its egg tart. 👏🏻
What about the financiers and chocolate chip cookie?

The Low & Sweet financiers were slightly crisp outside and moist inside. The plain financier had a nutty butter flavor, and the chocolate one had a deep chocolate taste that was delicious.
The chocolate chip cookie was nice and big, with chocolate studded throughout. Biting into it, you get the chocolate texture, and I think it would go well with coffee too.
Is it a good pick for egg tarts near Haeundae Station?
Low & Sweet had so many customers that there was a wait even on a weekday. I liked the atmosphere of the shop, and I enjoyed every dessert, so it was a satisfying visit.
If you're looking for a great egg tart near Haeundae Station, it's worth stopping by. Next time I'd like to sit down and have a relaxed coffee. 🤍
