Yangyang café with electric boat rides: Cafe Dunchi
In short
Cafe Dunchi is a floating café on Namdaecheon Stream in Yangyang, Gangwon, where I had coffee and rode an electric boat with my 18-month-old during a family trip. During a family trip to Yangyang, I stopped by Cafe Dunchi (카페 둔치), a floating café on Namdaecheon Stream. Wanting to spend some time differently in a destination I visit often, I had coffee and tried an electric boat ride.

Where is Cafe Dunchi, and is parking convenient?
Cafe Dunchi is directly on Namdaecheon Stream at 295 Ilchul-ro in Yangyang-eup. As soon as I arrived, the broad river view caught my eye. The parking lot was also spacious, so parking was easy. The hours listed in the original post are 10:00–21:00.
It is alongside Namdaecheon Salmon Ecological Park, so it was also nice for a walk nearby. There is a deck path and an observation deck with reeds and silver grass, along with spots where I could take photos against the riverside scenery.
How did I use the electric boat with my 18-month-old?
It was cloudy on the day I visited, with rain forecast nationwide. I had come to spend time at a café on the river, and I was able to ride the electric boat that day as well. After ordering drinks on the second floor, I went down to the first floor, put on a life jacket, and boarded.
At the time of my visit, there was a baby life jacket that fit my 18-month-old, so we could do the activity together. Everyone wore life jackets, and the boat did not feel fast, so I was not scared. The blankets prepared beside the life jackets helped me because I get cold easily.

Was the electric boat difficult to operate?
I received a safety briefing before using it, and even as a first-time rider, I did not find it difficult to operate. I could steer in the direction I wanted and spend time with my family.
I could bring drinks onto the boat, and there was a place to set them down. I also liked that I could listen to music via Bluetooth. Since it was an experience of staying on the river while having a drink, I thought it would suit a date as well.

What is the Namdaecheon Stream view like from the second-floor café?
The second floor had large windows overlooking Namdaecheon Stream. When I visited, the outside windows were open, which made the river scenery feel closer. I sat by the window and enjoyed the feeling of drinking coffee over the water.
The interior was spacious and kept neat, with photo spots throughout. I rested while looking at the river and surrounding nature for a long time. The view was lovely even on a cloudy day, and I wondered what it would look like in autumn.
What were the coffee and dessert options like?
The coffee I had tasted fresh and clean. I was told that the beans are supplied by a roastery in Gangneung and that the fruit syrups used in drinks and tea are made in-house. Desserts were also available, so I could choose something to have afterward.
