Solo pasta lunch at Suwon Station: rose cream shrimp at Rolling Pasta

In short

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is a good-value Western restaurant at the start of Rodeo Street, off Exit 7 of Suwon Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. On a solo lunch during a work errand, the writer ordered the rose cream shrimp pasta (₩9,500, or ₩11,500 with added sausage) and garlic sticks, and found the thick, slightly spicy sauce rich without being greasy. Living up to its 'solo diners welcome' sign, Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch has roomy seating and a tidy self-service bar, so eating alone feels completely comfortable.

A plate of rose cream shrimp pasta at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch

Last week I had to head out to the Yongin-Suwon area for work, so while looking for a place to eat I ended up at 'Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch,' where you can enjoy tasty Western food without breaking the bank!

Location and hours of Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch

Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch is at 2 Hyanggyo-ro 1beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, 2nd floor, open daily 11:00 - 21:30. Totally fine to eat solo!

Exterior / how to find it

It's right near the entrance of the Rodeo Street by Suwon Station Exit 7, so accessibility is genuinely great!

It's a short walk from Suwon Station! Right next to the A Twosome Place, and the sign is big and clean so you can spot it from far away haha

Menu standing sign next to the entrance

The standing signs by the door. You can tell at a glance it's great value for money. Like, is this even real given today's prices? And it said solo dining welcome. Usually when you're eating alone you end up at Subway or a snack bar, but pasta solo? Amazing. No questions asked, let's go in

What's the vibe inside? Is it okay to eat solo here?

Spacious interior with wood and navy tones
Widely spaced table seating in the restaurant

Walking in, I was surprised the place was way bigger than I expected! The tables are spaced generously apart, and the wood-and-navy interior felt really comfortable. With so many seats and a spacious interior, it looks great whether you're coming to eat solo or grabbing a casual meal with friends or a partner!

After sitting down, I browsed the menu on the kiosk first!

  • Aglio e olio ₩7,900
  • Spicy cream pasta ₩9,500
  • Cheese oven lasagna ₩13,500

True to being a Baek Jong-won brand, the value for money is overwhelming. Is under-10,000-won pasta even real these days..? There's a huge variety of pasta, pizza, pilaf, and salads, plus solo sets and generously composed combo sets, so I was seriously torn on what to order. The prices are low enough that ordering several felt totally fine! So even though I was eating solo, I went ahead and ordered a ton

Rose cream shrimp pasta with sausage add-on, ₩11,500

Just a note, payment is prepaid!

Drink and ice cup served with the order

The drink came out right along with the order. Served with a cup of ice! It was pretty warm that day, so I think I drank a third of it right after sitting down, ahh

Rose cream shrimp pasta served after five minutes

And five minutes after ordering, the rose cream shrimp pasta arrived! ₩9,500, plus a sausage add-on for a total of ₩11,500 — overwhelming value. But the taste is anything but cheap! The thick, savory rose sauce had a slight kick of spice, so it had zero greasiness and just kept going down easy

Close-up of rose pasta with added sausage

I added sausage worried the portion might be small(?), but I was surprised at how much there actually was haha. Loading up the noodles with sauce and taking a bite with the sausage — that combo is no joke

Garlic sticks ordered alongside

The garlic sticks ordered alongside

I was craving something sweet and carb-y so I also ordered the garlic sticks! They were a bit more moist than crispy. Genuinely sweet and golden-brown savory, through and through!

Garlic stick dipped in rose sauce

Dipping them right into the rose pasta sauce is heaven. Definitely recommend ordering it together! It tasted exactly like I imagined, so I was super satisfied

What's the self-bar setup like?

Self-service bar set up in one corner of the restaurant

For utensils or pickles, you just use the self-bar off to the side!

Forks, spoons, and plates arranged at the self-bar

Water, pickles, forks, spoons, plates, tissues, and so on — just help yourself to as much as you need haha. Self-bars like this are usually pretty messy, but the one at Rolling Pasta Suwon Station Branch was kept really clean. You can tell they put a lot of care into it!

If you're looking for good-value Western food near Suwon Station

A recommended Suwon Station spot for when you want tasty pasta that fills you up without emptying your wallet! Close to the station, a clean and spacious interior, and above all prices that don't feel like a burden — I was really satisfied. In this era of high prices, a cheap-and-good place like this feels like a lifesaver. Next time I'm near Suwon Station, I'll definitely stop by again, hehe
