The moment I walked in, I thought, "Ah, a lot of people probably come here just to take photos." 📸 With so many people around, it felt less like a café for a quiet moment alone and more like a hot spot in Gangnam for enjoying dessert with friends or a date.

The cafés I loved most during my long stay in Europe weren't shiny new spaces, but places with traces of an old building, vintage furniture, and natural materials left intact. Something About Coffee has exactly that feeling.

White-painted brick walls, worn-looking wood window frames, rattan lighting and plants 🌿 plus vintage furniture scattered throughout.

The window seats in particular, with their old-feeling windows and wood interior, were so pretty. It felt like a small European neighborhood café had been transplanted here. I don't mean it's identical to a European café — more like Korean sensibility and European vintage mood mixed together in a curious way. 🤎

And my personal favorite space! The outdoor terrace. White wood fences, green plants, and string lights hanging overhead — sitting here on a nice day would feel amazing. ✨

It seems like it would look even prettier once the sun starts to set and the lights turn on. Bright and fresh with natural light during the day, moodier with the string lights at night — perfect for anyone looking for a date-café or an atmospheric café in Gangnam. 💕

The coffee machine caught Mongsuri's eye too

Looking toward the counter, I spotted a familiar machine right away — a La Marzocco ☕️ Having visited a lot of cafés in Europe, I tend to notice this kind of coffee equipment and space detail. 😂 I liked that the coffee bar didn't feel separate from the café's mood — it blended naturally into the vintage space.

How wide is the dessert selection at Something About Coffee?

Walking further inside, cakes and baked goods are on display, and honestly it's hard to just walk past them. 😂

From cheesecake to various cakes and baked pastries, there's such a wide range that you end up ordering dessert even if you only came in for coffee... lol

Of course, I couldn't resist either. 🙋🏻‍♀️

It came to ₩29,700 total. Visiting as two people and ordering two desserts and two drinks turned out to be a perfect combo for relaxing at a café!!

🍑 Peach cheesecake, 9,500 won

The peach cheesecake was gorgeous just to look at. With peach slices on top, it just screams summer at a glance. 🍑✨

The soft, dense texture of the cheesecake paired with the peach's fresh sweetness went really well with coffee.

I especially liked that it wasn't a heavy, overly sweet dessert — the fruit gave it moments of freshness throughout. A cake I'd recommend for summer!

🍪 Choco pudding cookie, 6,200 won

If you love chocolate, this one's hard to pass up. 🍫 The outside is cookie, but as the name suggests, the soft chocolate center is the real appeal.

Paired with the americano, the coffee cleanly cut through the chocolate's sweetness — a great combo.

Personally, I believe an iced americano is the answer for this kind of rich chocolate dessert... lol ☕️

🍵 Matcha cream cold brew, 7,500 won

So many people love matcha these days, right? I was curious too, so I ordered it. The matcha cream + cold brew combo makes it feel a bit more like a dessert than a regular iced coffee. It's also pretty enough for photos. 📸

Matcha's characteristic bitterness blended with the cream's softness and the cold brew underneath. If you like sweeter drinks, this is worth trying at least once!

And finally, my love... iced americano, ₩6,500. 😂 Even after 10 years of drinking coffee in Europe, I still end up ordering an iced americano whenever I go to a café in Korea. The sweeter the dessert, the better an americano pairs with it.

What surprised me most on this visit was just how many people were there on a weekday afternoon. Seats were full enough that I had to wait for empty moments to take photos.

What caught my eye at Something About Coffee was this cream coffee line, more than the regular coffee. From einspänner to matcha-based drinks with cream on top, this section is great for anyone who likes sweet, soft coffee. 🤎
