Diaz in Ingye-dong, Suwon runs Diaz Cake Boutique on the 2nd floor and Cafe Diaz on the 4th floor as separate spaces. I was looking for a café to head to after brunch with my mom, and she recommended Diaz, saying the cake was delicious. Since I'd never been to Diaz Cake Boutique before, I picked the 2nd-floor cake boutique! 🍰🫖

Walking into Diaz Cake Boutique, a really pretty interior greets you 🥰 It has the vibe of a tea time straight out of Alice in Wonderland.
It felt more antique than your average café, and there were actually pretty teapots and cups on display, which made it fun to look around.

The cake I picked after much deliberation was the fig cream cake. (I say I don't even like figs, but somehow I always end up eating fig cake 🙋♀️) Figs are layered between the soft cream, so every bite is full of fig flavor.
They put in big, generous chunks of fig, so you really taste the fruit itself. If you like figs, this is a great fruit cake for fall — give it a try.
Grapefruit honey black tea, ICE 🍊
The grapefruit honey black tea was my mom's pick. Since she'd already had coffee, she went with something lighter from the tea menu, and I got excited seeing the grapefruit on top 😆 The bittersweet, refreshing grapefruit plus the sweetness of honey and the aroma of black tea made it a great drink to pair with cake.
Fortnum & Mason black tea with peach, HOT 🫖
I also picked the Fortnum & Mason black tea with peach, which fits the cake boutique's vibe perfectly. Even the teapot itself was so pretty,, 😮
I was looking for the cup, and it turns out it's attached underneath 🤣 Such a cute teapot-and-cup set.
The moment it's poured, the deep aroma of black tea spreads out — such a comforting scent. On top of that, the sweet, fresh peach fragrance made it easy and pleasant to drink.
Slowly enjoying warm tea and cake in such a pretty space, I felt like I'd stepped away from everyday life for a moment into a relaxed tea time ☺️
