Unjeong, Paju coffee shop: Jangdan bean latte & financier, Paun Coffee

I got the chance to visit my absolute regular café in Unjeong, Paun Coffee, and I've also been in and out of here countless times on my own dime!! A true regular!!! 🙌

Paun Coffee Gyoha branch: location, hours and parking

Paun Coffee Gyoha branch is at 65 Chaekhyanggisup-gil, 1st floor, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, near Hermann House 2 and Dongmun Winsle County in Paju. It's open every day from 09:00 to 19:00, and you can park at Gyoha Church or on the roadside.

A café in a quiet alley, one of my favorite spots in Unjeong 💛

I could talk about this place until my mouth goes dry and it still wouldn't be enough. It's my true regular favorite.

The Paun Coffee main branch opened in 2018 near Geongang Park, and the Gyoha branch is a brand-new café that opened in 2025!

Paun Coffee Gyoha branch has outdoor terrace seats plus bar seats and tables inside. It's a clean, minimalist space, and out front you can see trees and Gyoha Church.

The trees and the church view out front are so peaceful! Inside, the bar seats and tables are spaced out comfortably. A minimalist, very tidy space!

The restroom is unisex but kept clean, and there's a sink outside just for washing hands, so it was easy to wash up before eating dessert. Paun Coffee, my favorite in Unjeong!!

Drinks at Paun Coffee Gyoha branch include basic coffee, coffee with ice cream, tea and ade, and there are three kinds of dessert: salt bread, madeleines and financiers. Roe mayo is the most popular salt bread, but when I went around 2–3 p.m. it was already sold out.

The salt bread comes in lots of flavors, from plain to choco and mocha bun, and roe mayo is the most popular. I came determined to try it today, but sold out 🥲 You really have to go early for this one ㅠㅠ (I went around 2–3 p.m.)

These were the financiers! You can find even more kinds at the main branch~ The financiers are also sold as gift boxes! I've given them as gifts a few times myself. 🤗

We ordered a latte, a Jangdan bean latte, plain salt bread and an Apple Earl Grey financier.

What does the Jangdan bean latte at Paun Coffee taste like?

The Jangdan bean latte at Paun Coffee Gyoha branch is coffee topped with a bean cream that looks like black sesame cream. It's nutty with that distinct bean aroma, but tastes completely different from black sesame. Once the cream runs low the coffee tastes a little bitter, so it's best to mix it up.

The coffee I originally ordered wasn't available.. so the owner apologized and gave us a complimentary lemon madeleine, which got added to our spread~

My first time trying the Jangdan bean latte! Paju is famous for Jangdan beans~ The bean cream looks a bit like black sesame cream, with a thickness that goes down easily!!

I'm not a big fan of beans, but it was nutty with that distinct bean aroma, and totally different from black sesame.

My husband and I went "Oh! It's good!" and drank it as is, cream and all...

Later, when the cream ran low, the coffee tasted a little bitter, so we mixed it up (just like the owner said 🤭🤭🤭). A special coffee, confirmed 👍

The café latte a regular always orders at Paun Coffee

The café latte at Paun Coffee Gyoha branch is nutty, rich and full-bodied. I could really taste all the notes listed in the bean description: nuts, caramel, macadamia and toast.

Next up, the basic café latte I always drink!!

It's a nutty, really rich, full-bodied coffee, and just as the description says, you can really taste the nuts, caramel, macadamia and toast, so much flavor. 🤗 I love it!! 💛💛💛💛💛

Lemon madeleine and Apple Earl Grey financier at Paun Coffee

Paun Coffee bakes its desserts in the shop every morning. The complimentary lemon madeleine was bright and moist, and the Apple Earl Grey financier had a chewy exterior filled with apple jam and Earl Grey aroma.

Paun Coffee in Unjeong is great at desserts, not just coffee~ Desserts baked in the shop every morning!

The complimentary lemon madeleine paired fresh lemon with sweet dessert so well, and it was moist and soft, melting away with a sip of coffee.

And next, truly the financier of my life!!! My favorite is the salted caramel, but today it was Apple Earl Grey~~ A chewy exterior and fudgy inside, with bits of apple jam and lots of Earl Grey aroma~ It was just as good as my favorite.... Moving every time I eat it!!

Paun Coffee Gyoha branch's signature dessert: plain salt bread

Salt bread is the signature dessert at Paun Coffee Gyoha branch. The plain salt bread was crisp right from the sound when I bit into it, and I felt it had gotten better than before.

You have to listen to the sound of the salt bread here!! Crunch crunch, no joke!!

Honestly, I love Paun Coffee's financiers so much that.. the salt bread never wowed me as much by comparison...

But wait, it got even tastier in the meantime? I'm feeling the financier-level wow here too... I almost asked the owner, why did it get better?

Seriously, wow after wow today.. As expected, I just adore Paun Coffee.

Paun Coffee is a café I adore!! If you visit many times there are bound to be disappointing days.. but honestly it's so good whenever I go~ It's such a true favorite that this post is gushing out of me like an over-the-top chatterbox, so please do visit!
