Why we picked Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 for round two in Gwangalli

I was on a birthday trip to Busan with a friend. After a big first round at Taepyeongyang Hoetjip (a raw fish restaurant), we headed to Gwangalli and found Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 (간빠맥주 광안2호점) for round two. My Phu Quoc posts aren't even finished yet, but I'm rushing out this Busan one anyway.. whoosh whoosh whoosh..

The night sea was so pretty, and Gwangandaegyo Bridge too. We wanted one more drink and wondered where to go, but we'd eaten so much in round one that we didn't want anything heavy, just something light. While searching for a Gwangalli round-two bar, a friend's acquaintance told us we absolutely had to go, so this is today's Gwangalli beer spot.

The photo is blurry, but Ganppa Beer is a "you'd be crazy to come to Gwangalli and skip it" kind of place! Apparently branch 1 normally has a 400-team waitlist, wow.

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 menu and how to order

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 serves Sapporo and Ebisu draft beer. You order by QR code and payment is prepaid by default. A menu greeted us when we walked in, and since it's a round-two kind of bar, the drinks and snacks were cheap. It's also known as a good spot for drinking solo in Gwangalli.

The beer menu had Sapporo and Ebisu. I thought the prices were a little high, but no. This was not just ordinary draft beer... more on that later. We ordered 2 Ebisu drafts plus Ganppa's special cucumber side dish (간빠특제오이중독). Done!

Oh, and you order through a QR code. Ganppa Beer is prepaid by default.

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is covered in marks left by lots of people, so we decided to leave ours too.

We wrote, "It's my birthday today! I'm so happy to be here with my beloved bestie!" A truly happy birthday, and a happy Busan trip.

The little duck my bestie drew, hahahahahaha. The beer is amazing at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, hahahaha.

And since my bestie said she couldn't draw the duck well, I drew it again. I think mine's a bit better?

How does the draft beer taste at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2?

The draft beer at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 came topped with creamy foam and tasted very smooth. Look at that creamy foam.. it's not just ordinary draft beer, I'm telling you..

Ta-da! Glug glug.

What is this insanely delicious, super smooth beer..! My bestie, who doesn't really drink, opened her eyes wide. She said it was the tastiest beer she'd ever had, and her eyes lit up..!

The staff's beer-pouring skills are no joke either.. No wonder such tasty Sapporo draft comes out of here!

Ganppa's special cucumber side dish

Next up was Ganppa's special cucumber side dish, seasoned cucumber sprinkled with katsuobushi (bonito flakes). It's pretty addictive, hahahahaha. I was full but kept reaching for it...

Rock-paper-scissors and 5-second chug events at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2

While we were there, a bell suddenly rang and the owner started a rock-paper-scissors event. Win and get a free beer! I lost right away, completely crushed, ㅠ

So I just ordered another beer. They said if you finish it within 5 seconds you get another one. I felt like I could do it, but I was already over-drunk, so I passed.. Next time I won't let it slide (?)

Ugh, they pour the beer so beautifully... To think there's a beer bar in Busan that wins on both looks and taste...ㅠㅠ

A Sapporo collab store: kegs opened and finished the same day

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is a Sapporo collaboration store, so there were lots of Sapporo kegs. The rule is to open a keg and finish it the same day, so they say the beer is drawn with the keg's original freshness!

All the Sapporo kegs stacked up outside show exactly that.

Would I recommend Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 for round two in Gwangalli?

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 seemed fine for solo drinking and a perfect beer bar for travelers as a round-two spot in Gwangalli. The staff were really friendly and it was such a happy time in Gwangalli.
