What kind of café is Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters Sinpung?

Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters Sinpung (정지영커피로스터스 신풍점) is a newly opened branch near the Haenggung flagship store in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, known for its big space and vintage interior. If you love cafés in Haenggung-dong, you've probably heard of Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters.

It started in Haenggung-dong and has become one of Suwon's best-known local coffee brands. I like it enough that I regularly visit several of its branches. So when I heard a new store had opened near the flagship, I was curious and went to check it out.

Sinpung turned out to be a new Haenggung-dong café with a charm different from the older branches: a large space and a vintage interior.

Haenggung-dong has lots of cute cafés in old buildings, so Sinpung stands out as a new Suwon café with a really spacious interior.

Looking for a Haenggung-dong café with plenty of seats?

The café uses the whole 2nd floor, so the seating is varied: spots for sitting alone, tables for two, and bigger tables for groups. That gives it a different feel from the typical small Haenggung-dong café.

In Haenggung-dong, the more popular a café is, the more likely it is to be short on seats or cramped. Sinpung lets you enjoy your coffee in a relatively big space, and it looked good both for chatting with a friend and for spending a relaxed time alone.

If you're hunting for a new Haenglidan-gil café and prefer somewhere with lots of seating, it's worth keeping an eye on.

Interior and atmosphere at Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters Sinpung

The interior centers on warm wood tones, blended with vintage furniture and lighting. Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters is also known for giving each branch its own personality, and Sinpung has that signature brand feel too.

The wooden floors and tables, plus the small props placed around the room, create a calm, comfortable mood. I also found it interesting that although it's newly opened, it feels natural, like a café that's been around for ages.

Natural light comes in through large windows, and you can see the Haenggung-dong scenery outside. I think Haenggung-dong's particular charm and the brand's interior style go together well in this new café.

What did I order at Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters Sinpung?

This visit I ordered a hot Americano and a Coconut. As a roastery café, Jung Ji-young has a wide range of coffee drinks, which is a big part of its appeal.

When I want to taste the coffee's own aroma and flavor, I often go for a hot Americano.

You can buy beans and goods too

Sinpung also sells coffee beans and coffee-related goods. Being able to find the brand's various products, not just coffee, is another draw of Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters.

If you enjoy coffee at home, it's fun to browse the beans or look for something that suits your taste. It's more than a place to drink coffee; you get the feel of a local coffee brand, which makes it appealing for anyone searching for a great coffee spot in Suwon.

How did the hot Americano and Coconut taste?

The hot Americano here is nice for slowly savoring the coffee's aroma. A warm cup was especially good as a short break while walking around Haenggung-dong.

Coconut is my favorite coffee there: the sweet, nutty flavor of coconut on top of a smooth latte gives it a different appeal from an ordinary latte. You can even see the layers of milk, coffee and creamy foam, so it looks lovely in photos too!

Sinpung from someone who has visited many Jung Ji-young branches

Sinpung is close to the flagship yet shows a different charm with its spacious interior and vintage mood. I've visited other Jung Ji-young branches many times, and even within the same brand, each store has its own layout and atmosphere, so trying a new branch is fun.

This time I ordered a hot Americano and Coconut, and it was a nice visit for enjoying coffee while looking around the space. I'd recommend it especially if you're searching for a good coffee spot in Haenggung-dong or a roomy café with a great mood.

If you're walking around Suwon Hwaseong or Haenglidan-gil, drop by this new Haenggung-dong café, Jung Ji-young Coffee Roasters Sinpung. :)
