What kind of café is Chat Baker in Anseong?

Chat Baker is a brunch and bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong, a big venue near Starfield Anseong and Anseong Farmland. This was my revisit after about 2 months, and it's honestly a café in Anseong I love so, so much :)

📍 Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is at 4391 Seodong-daero, Unit 101, Building 3, Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are daily 09:00–23:00 for drinks and bakery (last order 22:00), and 09:00–19:00 for brunch and pasta (last order 19:00).

It's a big venue with lots of breads and brunch dishes, and the taste is reliably good overall, so whatever you pick, the chance of a miss is small, haha. It's close to Starfield Anseong and Anseong Farmland, so I'd recommend it as part of a weekend outing too :)

Is parking easy at Chat Baker?

As you'd expect from a big venue, the parking lot is big too!! Every time I go it's close to full, but I've never been left without a spot, so parking is comfortable.

The grand interior feels totally different from the outside! Right when you walk in there are clothing shops on both sides, and straight ahead is Chat Baker. If you glance up as you enter, there's a sculpture(?) that makes you wonder, what is that? It looks cool and curious even from the entrance, and there's a small twist when you go up to the 2nd floor.

Even the ordering area is so pretty. Overall Chat Baker has a clean, white, gallery-like interior, and it's so much fun to look around every corner of the shop.

This is the 1st-floor seating. The tables are spaced widely, and the tables, chairs and props are all so pretty. The interior is exactly my taste, so it's a place I keep wanting to go back to.

Even the stairs up to the 2nd floor are pretty,, every time I think it would work for a wedding photo shoot without looking out of place. You can't see it in the photo, but every single step has a caution mark. Every little detail shows real thoughtfulness.

Up on the 2nd floor, the open space in the middle lets you see the entrance area of the 1st floor. The structure floating in the air that I saw when I came in turns out to be this. It feels different from how it looks from the 1st floor.

This is the 2nd-floor seating. There are a few more sofa seats than on the 1st floor. There's also floor seating where you take your shoes off, so it feels like an even more comfortable space.

What's at the Chat Baker self-bar?

The self-bar has a toaster for warming up your bread, and it's a B-a-l-m-u-d-a toaster, no less. I like that it isn't a microwave, and I like it even more because the toaster is a Balmuda,,,

An extra charm of Chat Baker is the music you can enjoy in the shop. There's an LP display area like this on the 2nd floor, and they hold a special performance every month.

Here's the drink menu. They make the syrups and bases in-house, so instead of the usual flavors you can taste, you get a strongly handmade feel that's really enjoyable.

Here's the brunch menu. There's quite a variety: pasta, risotto, salad, bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and more. I always just have coffee and drinks, so I've never tried the brunch menu. But from experience, if the taste is this reliable, the brunch must be great too, so next time I'll visit to enjoy a relaxed brunch :)

What was the Chat Baker bread display like at 4 p.m. on a weekday?

The bread is displayed very hygienically in glass-door cases that only open and close when you press the buttons on the sides. This is what was left a little after 4 p.m. on a weekday. Maybe because it's a weekday, there seemed to be slightly fewer kinds of bread than on weekends.

The bread is house-made and baked every morning, with a lineup of more than 80 kinds in total. Croissants, sandwich loaves, campagne, scones and baked sweets, all fresh, kneaded and baked at dawn each day.

There seemed to be a wider choice of cakes than on weekends. Mocha, Oreo, fresh fruit, crumble and more, all looking delicious just to look at.

How does Chat Baker's house-made grapefruit ade taste?

I came this time because I had errands at Starfield Anseong, a revisit after about 2 months. Just taking bread to go felt like a waste, so I ordered a grapefruit ade. Since it's made with house-made grapefruit syrup, it had big chunks of grapefruit pulp, and it tasted like a healthy grapefruit ade without any artificial sweetness.

Whatever you eat, Chat Baker never lets you down! Highly recommended as a large bakery café in Anseong :)
