Noryangjin sashimi shop: Nanji Hangang Park picnic for 5, Ttangkkeut

In short

Ttangkkeut Maeul (땅끝마을) is a sashimi shop at stalls 42 and 43 on the 1st floor of Noryangjin Fish Market in Dongjak, Seoul. The writer pre-ordered the in-season medium jack mackerel assorted sashimi platter (for 2–3 people), with striped jack, large flounder, large red seabream and sea bass, and five people shared it comfortably at Nanji Hangang Park. With an Ineogyojuhaejeokdan app booking discount, generous sauces and fish for spicy stew, Ttangkkeut Maeul is a strongly recommended takeout spot for a Han River sashimi picnic.

What are the fish tanks and the shop like?

Even among Noryangjin sashimi spots, the tank by the entrance is especially clean and catches your eye 👀✨✨

Clean fish tank by the entrance of Ttangkkeut Maeul

Behind the clean tank, the owner was constantly prepping sashimi! It's a busy shop, so I think the turnover is high too!!

🐠 Jack mackerel, sea bream and sea bass were swimming around energetically, and 🐡 flounder (gwangeo) was kept separately in red baskets!! 🐟🐠🐡🦈

Tank of shellfish and mollusks with abalone and octopus

🐙 There are separate tanks for shellfish and mollusks like abalone and octopus too, so just looking around was fun!

Medium jack mackerel assorted sashimi: what's in it and how much

Ttangkkeut Maeul has lots of sashimi sets in different combinations!! We debated what to eat and went with the jack mackerel assortment, which is in season right now!!

Seasonal jack mackerel assorted sashimi menu

We chose the medium jack mackerel assortment! It came with striped jack / flounder / red seabream / sea bass, and even though it's a 2–3 person menu, the amount was seriously huge, enough for 5 people 😳👏

Pre-ordered jack mackerel assorted sashimi packed to go

Pre-order means instant packing, with plenty of sauces and stew fish

Since I'd ordered ahead, they handed over my already-packed order right away! It came in a big plastic bag, so it was easy to carry. And off we went straight to the Han River park! 🚶‍♀️🌞

The owner was very kind too, and while prepping the fish he included stew fish parts for spicy fish stew (maeuntang)~ He packed a ton of sauces too, like cho-gochujang (sweet-spicy vinegar paste), ssamjang (dipping paste), wasabi and stew sauce, so we lacked absolutely nothing 🧡

A Noryangjin sashimi picnic at Nanji Hangang Park

There's Yeouido Hangang Park right in front of Noryangjin Fish Market, but we went to Nanji Hangang Park instead 💖 The sky was clear, so the Han River looked extra pretty 😍

Nanji Hangang Park on a clear day

We spread out a mat, set up the table, and laid out the sashimi we'd brought! 🥰🥰 Oh, and we bought the white kimchi, gamtae (seaweed) and gim (laver) at the spot you see as soon as you go up to the 2nd floor of Noryangjin Fish Market!

Sashimi, white kimchi, gamtae and gim spread on a picnic mat

The striped jack's skin pattern was still sharp and clear, and the flounder and red seabream were sliced thick! With four kinds of fish including sea bass filling the plate, I was satisfied from the looks alone 💯

A Han River view sashimi picnic is... just heaven 🪽🪽

Sashimi piled on mukta and gim

We piled sashimi on mukta (semi-dried pollock snack) and gim with makjang (seasoned dipping paste), and eating it in the Han River breeze made it taste way better than usual 🌿 Seriously, go before it gets any colder!!

Sprinkle sushi sauce on instant rice and it's instant sushi

It got chilly while eating, so we moved to a sunny spot and I'd also brought ramyeon and Hetbahn (instant rice)~ Ttangkkeut Maeul even gave us sushi rice sauce, and sprinkling it on the instant rice turned it into sushi, hehe

Instant sushi made by sprinkling sushi sauce on instant rice

No matter how much we ate, the sashimi didn't go down... the amount is amazing, really! Thanks to Ttangkkeut Maeul in Noryangjin, our sashimi picnic was a total success!
