The meat quality is great, and the staff grill everything for you, so it works well for family dinners and group get-togethers. For parking, use the underground garage of the Seohui Starhills Centum Primo officetel right across from the restaurant, and the nice part is that you get a full 2 hours free! Millak-dong is a bit hard to reach by public transport, but with such generous parking support, it's convenient if you're driving for a family dinner or a company meal in Gwangalli!

The interior has warm lighting and a cozy, homey BBQ-restaurant feel. It's split over two floors, with a group room on the 1st floor and private rooms on the 2nd, so it's perfect if you're looking for a Gwangalli company dinner spot or a year-end gathering place 😀

The biggest plus of Donbegi is that you don't have to grill the meat yourself 🩷 Even when I go with family, nobody is stuck at the grill and we can chat and eat comfortably, which is why I keep going back, haha. If you're looking for a Gwangalli BBQ place that grills for you, save this one!

The side dishes at Donbegi are really clean and well done! The spring onion salad (pajeori) is tasty, and the pollock roe you put on top of the meat is a real kick 🧡🩷

Be sure to add the steamed egg too!

600g vs 800g: how big is the difference?

Last time I had the 600 Mixed Set (600g), and this time the Family Mixed Set (800g), so here are comparison photos first so you can see the size and amount!

The biggest reason I've gone back to Donbegi three times is, of course, the taste of the meat! The staff grill the thick cuts just right, and even though it's the same charcoal-grilled meat, it's softer and juicier than at other Gwangalli BBQ places. Out of all the many Gwangalli places that grill for you, this is the one I'm happiest with,,💜

French rack vs shoulder rack: which is tastier?

Last time I had the shoulder rack, and this time the French rack. The shoulder rack is a rib cut from the shoulder area with a good mix of fat and lean meat, while the French rack is low in fat and has a clean, mild taste! After trying both sets, my personal pick was the French rack💜

The shoulder rack was plenty tasty too, but maybe because the French rack is pricier? Hehe. Personally, I found the French rack softer and juicier, so it tasted moist and delicious💙 If the taste of the meat itself and a tender texture matter to you, I'll quietly recommend the 600 Mixed Set with the French rack 💜

Side dishes to order at Donbegi: Geumsa-dong cold kimchi noodles and doenjang-jjigae

The dish I'd recommend as much as the meat at Donbegi is the Geumsa-dong cold kimchi noodles (₩7,000) ❤️ It comes in a bright red broth piled with cucumber, seaweed flakes and kimchi. The noodles are chewy and the broth is cool, so one bite between pieces of meat wipes away the greasiness in your mouth! If you go to Donbegi, please order it. It's my husband's favorite Donbegi dish, and I went with my in-laws once and my mother-in-law loved the cold kimchi noodles too, haha

The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew, ₩5,500) is good too, so I recommend it with rice as a meal dish after you finish the meat ⭐
