Sushi Ianen Nowon Station (스시이안앤 노원역점) is a conveyor sushi restaurant where you can enjoy a wide variety of sushi at a very good-value ₩1,990 per plate. This time I stopped by alone for a solo drink.
I think I came to Nowon Station now and then when I was young, but the older I get, the less reason I have to come. The food alley around Nowon Station has outdoor tables set up here and there, and most seats are taken. You have to enjoy it before it gets hot.

Is Sushi Ianen in Nowon comfortable for eating or drinking alone?
Sushi Ianen Nowon Station has a bar counter, so eating or drinking alone is comfortable. Oh, quite a lot of people here?! The bar counter was almost full, and there were also tables for families and groups.

One seat was open at the end of the bar, so I was guided there.

You pick whatever conveyor sushi you like, and for udon, cold soba (cold buckwheat noodles) or alcohol, you ask the staff separately and they bring it to you.

First, the basics: pickled scallions (rakkyo), ginger and soy sauce.

How much does Sushi Ianen cost?
Conveyor sushi at Sushi Ianen Nowon Station is a flat ₩1,990 per plate. A plus is that if there is a piece you want at that good-value price, you can also order it separately.

There are maki rolls, rolls, fried items and even desserts, so it looked fine for a family meal out with kids.

Conveyor sushi with soju-beer bombs
Since I was going to have a drink, I ordered soju and beer at Sushi Ianen. They brought the drinks out first, so quick and thoughtful! The staff were friendly, so I could eat comfortably even though I came alone.

I'm not a fan of the complimentary soup (jangguk) that comes by default. Let's start with an egg piece first.

White fish first, or something? That doesn't matter. I just grabbed whatever I saw haha. The steamed abalone and cuttlefish are also ₩1,990 a plate, so there's no pressure, which is nice.
My third pick was sweet shrimp with seaweed (gamtae). I also had one seasoned eel sushi, enjoying conveyor sushi with my soju-beer bomb.

Desserts the kids would love
Sushi Ianen Nowon Station has a variety of desserts too, like fruit, pudding and baked goods, so kids would probably love it. Recommended for a family meal out.

One plate of boiled octopus too. The menu was more varied than I expected, so picking was fun.

Cheese-topped grilled shrimp and shrimp sushi
Grilled shrimp topped with cheese, oh this is good. An elementary-schooler's palate is still hiding somewhere inside me.

It feels a bit much when drinking alone, but with someone you love, sharing a bottle of sake is a good idea too.

There was a nice variety of shrimp sushi. I had one sea bream sushi as well.

At Sushi Ianen Nowon Station, the conveyor sushi keeps rotating right in front of you. As someone who can't decide, I struggled a little haha. I just went with the "try everything" strategy.

Aged kimchi fish and futomaki, good with drinks
Aged kimchi with raw fish, this combo is surprisingly good? It wasn't bad as a drinking snack either.

Around here I slowly started getting full haha.
There was futomaki (thick sushi roll), so I happily grabbed it. It was bigger than I expected and hard to fit in one bite. This one's good, so try it if you go to Sushi Ianen.

One piece of cheese scallop too. A familiar taste.

After finishing the beer, I drank the soju. From here I was slowly getting full.

The disappointing meat sushi
I was curious about the meat sushi, so I tried one. Maybe bad timing, it was slightly chewy. I guess you have to catch it at the right moment.
One more shrimp sushi. Sushi Ianen had many kinds of shrimp. My last drink went with egg, shrimp and cheese. It was nearly closing time, so I wrapped up in a hurry, and I'm super full.
I ate a lot. Maybe because it had been a while since I had conveyor sushi, I think I ate more than expected, but at ₩1,990 a plate it felt less burdensome haha.

Sushi Ianen Nowon Station: overall verdict
Sushi Ianen Nowon Station is a conveyor sushi restaurant with a flat ₩1,990 per plate. With a varied menu and even desserts, it seems good for a family meal out. I visited alone for a drink, and the friendly staff looked after me well, so I could eat and leave without any discomfort.
