Gangnam Western restaurant, lunch amid blind dates: Eulji Darak
In short
Eulji Darak Gangnam Station is a white-toned Western restaurant on the 2nd floor right by Gangnam Station in Seoul. Over lunch with a younger brother, the writer ordered omurice, spicy cream pasta, katsu sando (pork cutlet sandwich) and a Coke Zero while trying not to laugh, because the tables on both sides were all blind dates. Eulji Darak Gangnam Station serves clean, tidy food, but its atmosphere makes it worth revisiting for a blind date, a date or a lunch meetup.

📌 Eulji Darak Gangnam

If you're looking for a pasta place with a great atmosphere near Gangnam Station, I strongly recommend Eulji Darak (을지다락)! 🍝 There are so many good restaurants around Gangnam Station these days that it's hard to choose, but the food here was clean and, above all, the mood was lovely. It felt just right for a blind date or an early-relationship date.
This time I went with my younger brother, and both sides of us were tables that looked like blind dates, so the two of us had a hard time holding back our laughter. 😂
How close is Eulji Darak Gangnam Station to Gangnam Station?

Eulji Darak Gangnam is right near Gangnam Station, on the 2nd floor of a building on Gangnam-daero 96-gil, so it's really easy to reach. 📍 In weather over 30 degrees like these days, even walking a long way is tiring, right?

You get here quickly from Gangnam Station, so it's an easy place to meet up and a perfect spot for lunch. 😊
Eulji Darak Gangnam Station atmosphere: good for a blind date?

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the white-toned interior. 🤍 It's bright and tidy overall, so photos turn out pretty, and the quiet mood makes it easy to talk.
When I visited, there were really a lot of people on blind dates. Apart from me and my brother, the tables on both sides all seemed to be blind dates, and I remember the two of us eating while feeling awkwardly self-conscious. 🤣
Eulji Darak menu and what we ordered

Eulji Darak Gangnam has a wide menu, from pasta to omurice (omelet rice) to katsu sando, so it was easy to choose 🍽️ Looking at the tables around us, omurice seemed to be the most popular order.

We ordered omurice, spicy cream pasta and katsu sando, and since it was such a hot day, a Coke Zero each too. 🥤

The Coke Zero came in a glass of ice, nice and cold, and the heat melted away from the very first sip.

By the way, I heard Eulji Darak Gangnam gives you a free drink each if you leave a Naver receipt review or a Google Maps review! I can't miss a review event like that, right? haha
Is Eulji Darak's spicy cream pasta too rich?

Eulji Darak's spicy cream pasta wasn't too heavy even though it's a cream pasta, and it was moderately spicy, so I kept reaching for more. The plating was really pretty too 🌶️ so it looks great in photos on a blind date or a date. 📸
It isn't spicy enough to set your mouth on fire, just right for an easy lunch.
Why Eulji Darak's omurice is so popular

There's a reason Eulji Darak's omurice is the most ordered dish. 🍳 The eggs were really fluffy, and it looked adorable. 💛
The staff member serving us asked whether we'd like to take photos first, and as a blogger, of course I took photos first. 😂 The soft egg and the sauce went together really well, and the texture was great, so personally I was very happy with this dish.
What is katsu sando and how did Eulji Darak's taste?

Katsu sando is a Japanese-style pork cutlet sandwich. 🥪 "Katsu" is pork cutlet and "sando" is the Japanese shortening of sandwich, so it's one of Japan's signature dishes: a thick cutlet between slices of white bread. Some places make the mustard flavor too strong, but Eulji Darak's katsu sando was well balanced overall haha

The pickles served alongside did a good job cutting the richness, and the staff kindly explained that it tastes even better with coleslaw on top. 😊
I'm not good with rich food, so much so that I deliberately order spicy versions even of cream pasta, but nothing felt heavy at all. Each dish comes with sides to eat along with it, so I enjoyed it to the very end.
