Wheelchair-friendly Haeundae café: two-bean americano, Low & Sweet
In short
Low & Sweet Roastery (로우앤스윗 로스터리) is a roastery café in U-dong, near Haeundae Station in Busan. After lunch in Haeundae with a father who uses a wheelchair, the writer chose two iced americanos, one made with an acidic bean and one with a nutty, low-acid bean, and took away a financier, a canelé and salt bread. With easy access, an indoor restroom and well-made desserts, Low & Sweet Roastery is worth returning to as an after-meal café in Haeundae.

Back at Low & Sweet Roastery in Haeundae with my father
Low & Sweet Roastery (로우앤스윗 로스터리) is a roastery café in U-dong, near Haeundae Station, and this was my second visit. Every time I travel to Busan there are places I just have to go back to, and since I love hunting down good food in Haeundae, coffee and dessert matter as much as the meal itself. This time I brought my father to Haeundae and stopped at Low & Sweet again, a place I already love. I'd been once before, but the coffee is so good that I had to return.

Is Low & Sweet Roastery easy to reach by wheelchair or stroller?
Access is good, so people using wheelchairs or strollers can visit comfortably. That day we had lunch at a famous tonkatsu (pork cutlet) place in Haeundae first and came here afterward. Since my father uses a wheelchair, we did takeout instead of staying long. Every time I visit, I notice how easy it is to get in and out.

How do you choose the beans for an iced americano?
For the iced americano, you can choose between a bean with acidity and a bean with less acidity that emphasizes a nutty richness. I ordered iced americanos again: one with the acidic bean, the other with the nutty bean. The two beans are clearly different, so you can pick to suit your taste, which I really like.

When you go around Busan looking for good food, often the meal is great but the coffee disappoints, or the coffee is good but the desserts fall short. Low & Sweet is satisfying on both coffee and desserts, which is why it stays in my memory.

Financier, canelé and salt bread to go: how they tasted
Along with the coffee, I took away a financier (a small almond-butter cake), a canelé (a custardy French pastry) and salt bread. I'd just eaten a really filling tonkatsu lunch, yet dessert somehow found its own stomach, haha. That's how good they were.
- Financier: I ate this first. The butter flavor was rich and the texture moist.
- Canelé: Crisp outside and chewy inside, the classic texture, and it left an impression.
- Salt bread: Pleasantly salty with a nutty flavor, and it went really well with coffee.

What impressed me most was the quality of the desserts. At most cafés desserts play a supporting role, but here I felt the financier or canelé alone could make the place famous as a dessert spot, they're that polished.
The coffee was satisfying too. The aroma of fresh beans came through and the clean finish stood out. It tidies up the lingering taste of lunch, so I think it works well as the closing stop of a Haeundae food tour.
Is it a good Haeundae date café? Atmosphere and natural light
Big windows let in plenty of natural light, and the clean interior stands out. The atmosphere was as good as ever. It's great for photos too, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Haeundae date spot. A photo at a window seat would catch lovely light, perfect for a standout shot.

Indoor restroom, pet water bowl and other facilities
Having a restroom inside the shop is a big plus. At many cafés you have to use an outside restroom, but here it's neatly set up indoors, which was convenient.

There was something new this visit too: a space where you can try on running shoes. At first I thought they were products for sale, but it seemed to be set up so you can actually put them on. It felt less like just a café and more like a space suggesting a lifestyle.
One side of the shop sells various goods. From drip bags to items they made themselves, it was fun to browse, and each item seemed to reflect the owner's taste and brand philosophy.
Personally, I was impressed that they have a water bowl for pets. It's a small thing, but you can feel the care for visitors, and that kind of attention adds to the charm of the place.
A café to stop by after a meal in Haeundae
Haeundae has so many cafés, but fewer than you'd think satisfy on coffee, desserts, atmosphere and accessibility all at once. So I'd definitely recommend Low & Sweet to anyone on a Haeundae food tour or hunting for good food in Busan.
On a day when you want a good cup of coffee, tasty desserts and a comfortable space, Low & Sweet looks like a choice you won't regret. If you're planning a Haeundae date course, it was a really nice café to drop into after a meal.

A coffee and dessert spot you have to visit after a Haeundae food tour, and a satisfying Haeundae date course too: Low & Sweet Roastery.
