I went at lunch, so I had 80 minutes, but that was plenty of time.
Is Sangsangcheom good for groups and family meals?

This all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant in Songdo is big and comfortable, and I liked that the tables are spaced widely. I came at lunchtime, and plenty of people from nearby offices were there for company dinners and lunches! It's a pleasant place to eat, so if you book ahead, it works for group gatherings too.

Kids these days love malatang too, so I hear lots of families come here for meals out. Of course, they had high chairs ready.

How to order at Sangsangcheom: broth and shabu-shabu meats
You order easily on the tablet at your table 👍🏻 For the broth, you can choose between a one-flavor traditional pot and a two-flavor split pot, and I went with two flavors: mala and tomato!

The shabu meat comes in 3 kinds: shoulder, beef belly and chuck flap. You order on the tablet and a staff member brings the meat to your seat, which is convenient. Unlimited shabu meat, skewers and seafood for around ₩20,000: isn't that the best value ever?
What's on the Sangsangcheom self-bar?
The hot pot ingredients are all at the self-bar, and you can help yourself freely. The skewers for mala hot pot are in the unlimited self-bar too, so you can eat comfortably without feeling awkward about taking more. That's a big plus.
Besides fresh vegetables, there are different kinds of fen mozi (potato starch dumplings), corn noodles and glass noodles, and lots of mushroom varieties too, so you can pick what suits your taste.

Unlimited mala beef and dried tofu-enoki skewers
The seafood is fresh and there are lots of skewer types, but the mala beef and dried tofu & enoki skewers were so good that I brought them back several times. At malatang places skewers are always an extra charge, but here they're included in the price, so great value 👍🏻

I came late in the lunch hour and it was still busy. The value is so good that lots of nearby university students come too.

Fried sides, guobaorou, desserts and drinks
The self-bar also has sides that go well with hot pot, from all kinds of fried food to guobaorou (Chinese sweet and sour pork) haha. The fried flower buns (kkotppang) are a total must-try!!

There's fruit and ice cream for dessert at the self-bar too, so the finish is perfect🤍 Drinks are unlimited as well, and not just sodas but bottled drinks too! I was happy they had iced black tea (bingхongcha), my favorite drink.
Best hot pot dipping sauce: sesame sauce
You make your hot pot sauce at the self-bar, and if mixing it feels hard, just ask a staff member and they'll make it for you haha. I recommend the nutty sesame sauce 👍🏻 I always eat hot pot with sesame sauce; it's rich and goes so well.
Mala and tomato split pot with beef belly: how did it taste?
When I got to my seat, the hot pot was already ready! I ordered tomato and mala broths, and the tomato broth has a bone-broth base, so it's mild enough for kids to eat.

I brought a variety of shabu vegetables and ordered 2 plates of beef belly. The meat looked in good shape at a glance, and it wasn't frozen, which I liked haha.

There's a wide range of shabu ingredients, so I put in a bit of everything, and it's delicious every time I eat it..🤍 I come to Sangsangcheom whenever I crave hot pot, and this is my umpteenth visit, so it's a hot pot place I trust!

Meat is included in the unlimited deal, so I loaded the pot with toppings haha. I dunked the skewers in the broth too, and with guobaorou and fried food in between, the shabu-shabu hot pot just keeps going down!

Iced black tea, the perfect match for mala hot pot
Iced black tea (bingхongcha) goes so well with malatang hot pot🤍 It tastes similar to lemon iced tea and it's refreshing, so I really recommend trying it.

I made 3 kinds of sauce at the sauce self-bar, but my number one is still the sesame sauce haha. It's nutty and a perfect match for mala!
I think the charm of shabu-shabu is that you can keep adding as you eat. Staff came by in between to refill the broth and check on us carefully, which I liked.
The guobaorou is properly crispy outside and chewy inside. The mala broth is on the spicy side, and eating guobaorou calms the heat, so I kept eating it haha. It's a winning combo for shabu-shabu hot pot that never gets old.
To finish, fruit after the meal. There were 3 kinds, watermelon, orange and cherry tomatoes, and the watermelon was sweet! My partner scooped up every kind of ice cream and loved it, of course 👍🏻

Verdict: revisiting Sangsangcheom for all-you-can-eat hot pot in Songdo
Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch is a hot pot specialist where meat, seafood and skewers are all unlimited. For around ₩20,000 with no extra charges, the value is great and the shabu quality is really good, so I'm satisfied every time I visit. If you're looking for a good shabu-shabu hot pot place in Songdo, I recommend Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch.
