Tomato broth hot pot buffet in Songdo Triple Street: Sangsangcheom
In short
Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch is an authentic Chinese all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant on the 1st floor of Building D at Triple Street in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. On a weekday lunch, two people ordered a split mala and tomato broth and ate from the Sangsangcheom self-bar's vegetables, skewers, seafood, fish cakes and guobaorou (Chinese sweet-and-sour fried pork) with sesame sauce. The first-ever taste of tomato broth and the quality of the fish cakes and guobaorou stood out, making Sangsangcheom a strongly recommended hot pot spot in Songdo.

Today I'm sharing an honest weekday lunch review of Songdo Sangsangcheom (상상첨), an all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant in Songdo Triple Street.
What kind of place is Sangsangcheom in Songdo?
Sangsangcheom is an authentic Chinese all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant in Songdo Triple Street. It's open every day from 11:00 to 23:00, with last order at 21:30. Groups and reservations are welcome, and there are separate men's and women's restrooms, Wi-Fi, baby high chairs and parking.
You can enjoy authentic Chinese hot pot in a classy yet clean atmosphere. The space is big and the menu is varied, so it's loved by locals and by tourists visiting Songdo alike 💕
Where is Sangsangcheom Triple Street and how is the parking?
The address of Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch is Building D, 1st floor, Unit 122-1, 33-4 Songdogwahak-ro 16beon-gil, Yeonsu, Incheon, South Korea. I've attached a map for anyone who doesn't know the area.

Sangsangcheom used to be on the 2nd floor of Triple Street Building C, but it has moved to the 1st floor of Building D. It's right in front of GATE3, across from "Oneureun Wine Hanjan," so it was easy to find.
For parking, use the Triple Street underground car park. You get 5 hours free (no parking registration needed).
Sangsangcheom has a time limit of 80 minutes at weekday lunch and 100 minutes at dinner and on weekends and public holidays, so please keep that in mind when you visit!

Is the atmosphere good for dates and family gatherings?
Unlike the usual all-you-can-eat hot pot place, the interior of Sangsangcheom Songdo is very stylish and clean. I think it works for dates, but also for family, friends and company dinners. The tables are nicely spaced, so it was comfortable to eat~ 💛
The ceiling is high and the windows are floor-to-ceiling, so it feels open.
They have baby chairs too, so if you're coming with a baby, don't worry :)
How do you order, and what broths are there?
At Sangsangcheom you order broth and meat on the tablet at each table. You can choose one or two broths out of five: mala, ox bone, tomato, mushroom and cheongyang chili. I liked that there are menus outside the restaurant as well as inside, and the tablet made ordering easy!!
The all-you-can-eat meat doesn't come out unless you order it, so be sure to order meat when you order your broth 💙
I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I picked two broths: mala and tomato 😊
What's at the Sangsangcheom self-bar?
At the self-bar you help yourself to skewers, vegetables, seafood, fish cakes, guobaorou, sauces, drinks and more. Only the broth and meat are ordered by tablet.

Vegetable corner
The vegetable corner had napa cabbage, water dropwort, crown daisy, bok choy, mushrooms, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, sweet potato, potato, lotus root and more. Every single vegetable was fresh, so this veggie lover was happy

Skewer, seafood and fish cake corner
This side had skewers, rice cakes, ramen noodles, fish cakes, congealed blood, liver, beef tendon, crab sticks, crab, shrimp, scallops, squid, cuttlefish, seaweed and more. There's a huge variety, and each tub has its name written on it, so choosing was easy.

It's really well kept, isn't it? I've never been to a hot pot place with this many kinds of skewers~😊 There were about 10 kinds at Sangsangcheom, and they're skewered in bite-size pieces, which makes them even easier to eat. You're allowed to leave food, so eat first and then go back for more!!

Sauce and side corner
This corner has sauces, guobaorou, flower buns, rice, ice cream for dessert, pickled radish, water kimchi, french fries and more.
Pickled radish at a hot pot place is whatever, but water kimchi?! The owner's sense is seriously crazy!!!!!!!!!
There were lots of recommended sauces: sesame sauce, sesame oil sauce, soy sauce, even a "staff pick." If you don't know how to mix a sauce, try one of the recommended combos. I made the sesame sauce with the recommended combo and it was sooo good 👍
Sangsangcheom had lots of sides too: gimmari (fried glass noodle roll), guobaorou, flower buns and french fries!

Fruit, dessert and drinks
Rice to go with the hot pot, then watermelon, oranges, cherry tomatoes, fruit cocktail and ice cream for dessert... Boss, do you have anything left over? There's sooo much variety!!!!!!!!!!
Drinks were unlimited too, from sodas (with plenty of zero options) to Chinese bottled drinks. Bottled drinks are unlimited, but they're ₩3,000 each to take out, so please finish them in the restaurant if you can 😊 The drink choice is sooo wide.. 👍
Aprons are also at the self-bar, so grab one if you need it.

Weekday lunch for 2: half mala, half tomato
Two of us went for weekday lunch and ordered two broths, tomato and mala.

We brought back a hearty haul: vegetables, fish cakes, seafood, guobaorou and skewers~ There are so many kinds that I was happy before I even took a bite!! 😘
The meat has arrived too, so time to really dig in, right? Honey, put it evenly into the tomato broth and the mala broth!
But the chopsticks here are really long? Short chopsticks always bothered me at hot pot places, but Sangsangcheom's long ones were comfortable! (Clearly they've thought carefully about every little detail)

What does the tomato broth taste like?
The tomato broth was sweet and sour with a deep, rich savoriness. Look at it, how is it so good-looking?! I'd only ever had the plain white broth and the red (mala) broth, so this was my first time trying tomato broth.
It's built on a thick, rich, slow-simmered tomato base with natural tang and sweetness. At first I thought, "Huh, it's sour?" but the more I ate, the more I felt its deep savoriness and addictiveness, and I kept going back for more.. 💙 And the mala broth, what can I say: spicy, intense and numbing, it made it impossible to put my spoon down!
Meat and sesame sauce
The all-you-can-eat meat had no gamey smell and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The red and tomato broths soaked into the meat, which made it even tastier.
I'd made a tasty sesame sauce, so of course I had to dip in it. The meat is good on its own, but dipping it in sesame sauce makes the flavor even bigger, so give it a try!

Skewers, fish cakes and guobaorou
Now for the skewers, right? They look absolutely insane! Bite-size, easy to eat, and with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that made them even better💚
Wait, why are the fish cakes at Sangsangcheom so good? From chewy, bouncy scallops to all sorts of fish cakes... I love fish cakes, so at mala places I lose my mind loading up on them, and Sangsangcheom has a huge variety of good quality, so I was extra satisfied. The lucky bag one and the sea urchin fish cake? That popping texture was so appealing 😀
I've been to lots of all-you-can-eat hot pot places but never seen one with guobaorou. Sangsangcheom's self-bar has flower buns, french fries and gimmari too.. And the guobaorou is so good I wouldn't mind ordering it separately. Crispy outside, juicy inside, with a sweet and sour sauce. Really tasty🥟
Drawbacks and tips
It was so tasty that I thought, shall we refill once more! I expected to eat a lot of meat, but maybe because there was so much to eat at the self-bar, I couldn't eat much of it, which is a shame.. Still, the meat quality is really good and I loved the melt-in-your-mouth texture!!
I also thought I'd eat lots of skewers, but the first batch I brought was all we had,, why did we only eat this many skewers!!!!! Finished skewer sticks go in the skewer bin.
By the way, the heat control buttons are on the side of the table, so adjust with + and -.
Is Sangsangcheom worth recommending for hot pot in Songdo?
We finished with drinks~ A perfect meal! Even a candy for dessert.. Sangsangcheom gets full marks for thoughtfulness💚 We got good-quality hot pot at a great-value price, so if you're looking for a good hot pot place in Songdo, I strongly recommend Sangsangcheom✨
