What kind of café is Small Town Coffee?

Small Town Coffee (스몰타운커피) is a café right in the middle of Galmae-ri village in Baebang-eup, Asan, Chungnam. It's known as a new Baebang café, a dog-friendly Baebang café, a Galmae-ri café and a cozy Asan Baebang café.

• "Small town" means a small country town, and true to the name, the café sits right in the middle of Galmae-ri village
• A cozy Baebang café where you can relax and unwind
• Popular menu items are Malta Coffee, Cream Latte and Ice Cream Latte
• There are plenty of coffee options, plus desserts like scones and cookies

Is parking easy at Small Town Coffee?

Yes! Small Town Coffee has a big parking lot right beside the shop, which makes it an easy-parking café in Baebang. It's also a nice drive-out café if you're coming from near Cheonan.

Walk along the stone steps past the lovely building exterior and you'll see the front door of Small Town Coffee.

Inside the main building

The main building has wood-tone chairs and tables, a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows, so it feels quiet and snug. Through the big windows you can look out over the countryside of Galmae-ri and just relax.

There are cute little props around, and the seats are spaced far apart, so you can have a private conversation.

Outdoor terrace and the friendly cat

Small Town Coffee also has outdoor terrace seating. The café has a resident cat that is super friendly, like a puppy. My partner had never met it, but even when he stroked its whiskers it stayed still, and it lies there while other people pet it too, haha.

Is there an annex for group gatherings?

Small Town Coffee has a separate annex too. With so many seats, you don't need to worry about finding a table, and since it has the same cozy mood, it looks fine for group gatherings. I'd recommend it as a café for all kinds of get-togethers.

Receipt review perk and menu

If you write a receipt review at Small Town Coffee, you get a refill of an Americano or apple juice. Note that it's not available for takeout.

What comes in the B Set (₩16,000)?

The Small Town Coffee B Set is two iced Americanos and a Basque cheesecake for ₩16,000. This is the set we ordered.

The buzzer went off and my partner brought over the drinks and dessert. Seeing it from our seat, it looked so delicious.

Basque cheesecake

The Small Town Coffee Basque cheesecake has a dense, rich look and tastes sweet and melts in your mouth.

The height is just right, and let's peel off the plastic wrap! I poked it with a fork and took a bite! It melts in your mouth!

Sweet and melty, so good. I'm officially calling this a top Basque cheesecake spot (we say "bachike" for short).

Iced Americano

The Small Town Coffee iced Americano has lots of ice, is strong, and is low in acidity. Drinking an iced Americano in front of those big windows is pure bliss, I admit!

My partner and I both had iced Americanos, and with plenty of ice, a strong taste and low acidity, we both finished them happily to the last drop. They also pair really well with the Basque cheesecake.
