Weekend lunch waiting and hoibal pairing at Padong, Mangwon
Padong is a Japanese restaurant in a basement space in a Mangwon-dong alley near Mangwon Station in Mapo, Seoul. Visiting at 1pm on a weekend meant a short wait behind two parties, then futomaki (thick sushi roll) so big it barely fits in one bite, mazesoba (brothless noodles) piled with meat and scallions, and a Jim Beam highball to wash it down. Generous portions even split between two make Padong a solid pick for Japanese food in Mangwon.
