How to find Bueokgan at Shinsegae Premium Outlets in Gijang
Bueokgan Restaurant is a Western restaurant on the 1st floor of Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang. I went to Gijang over the weekend to shop at the outlets, and after finishing up I searched for somewhere to eat — Bueokgan came up as a recommendation over and over.
Bueokgan is on the 1st floor, so it was easy to find even as a first-timer. It's also close to the parking lot, so getting there was convenient, and the flow from shopping straight into dinner worked really well.

The reviews were good and the menu was varied, so I'd been curious about the place and went straight in. I could see why it's known as a go-to Western restaurant in Gijang.

Bueokgan's interior and table spacing
The first thing I noticed walking in was the clean, Nordic-style interior.
White tones and wood tones came together in a way that felt comfortable, and the space really suited a brunch outing.
It looked great for photos too, and seemed like a good pick whether for a date or a get-together with friends.
The place was also much bigger than I expected. Tables were spaced generously, so there was hardly any bumping into other diners and conversation felt easy. The tables were wide enough for a family gathering with several people eating together, too — I think that's another reason it's so popular as a Western restaurant in Gijang.

Is Bueokgan kid-friendly?
There was thoughtful consideration for customers with children, too. High chairs and kids' tableware were ready, so families with young kids could eat comfortably.
I visited during that awkward gap between lunch and dinner, and since there weren't many customers, I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace.

Being able to eat slowly in an uncrowded atmosphere made it even more satisfying. The staff were friendly too, which kept me in a good mood the whole meal.

Bueokgan menu and set options
Looking through the menu, there were set options like the signature set and family set that let you enjoy several dishes at a reasonable price. If you're visiting with a group, you don't have to agonize over the menu, and you get to try a variety of dishes together — that seemed like a real plus.

I ordered what's apparently Bueokgan's most famous trio: napa cabbage salad, tomato pasta and rocket pizza. I'd seen these dishes in so many reviews that my expectations were high.

Baby napa cabbage salad
The napa cabbage (al배추, a mild, tender variety of Chinese cabbage) salad that arrived first looked really appetizing. The fresh napa cabbage kept its crunch, and eaten with the sauce it had a clean, savory flavor. I don't usually reach for salad much, but I kept going back for more of this one. Eating it alongside the mains felt like it cleansed the palate, which made it even more satisfying.

Tomato pasta
The tomato pasta stood out for its rich tomato sauce flavor. It was tangy yet deep, and the noodles were cooked just right, giving it great texture. The sauce clung well to the pasta, so it tasted good down to the last bite, and it wasn't too sharp, making it something anyone could enjoy without worry. I could see why people keep calling this a top Western restaurant in Gijang.

Arugula pizza
The rocket (arugula) pizza we also ordered was topped generously with fresh rocket, which made it satisfying just to look at. The savory cheese paired well with the fragrant rocket, and the crust was chewy enough to enjoy all the way to the edge. It went really well together with the tomato pasta, and the portion was just right for two people to share.
