Yeoju dakgalbi restaurant with staff grilling: Seorak Makguksu

I stopped by Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch (설악막국수 춘천닭갈비 여주IC점) when it was time for dinner after shopping at Yeoju Premium Outlet. Since it was close to the outlet, I chose it as a place to eat after shopping.

How close is it to Yeoju Premium Outlet, and is parking easy?

The restaurant is just in front of Yeoju IC, about five minutes by car from Yeoju Premium Outlet. The parking lot was large, so it felt convenient to visit by car.

Is it comfortable for families or larger groups?

The restaurant is large enough for about 100 people, with plenty of space inside and generous gaps between the tables. I thought it would be comfortable for a family gathering or a meal with several friends.

It was a cleanly designed space with a golf-inspired atmosphere. I arrived 30 minutes before last order, but customers continued coming in, and the large interior felt open.

What can you order with the dakgalbi?

The dakgalbi options were charcoal-grilled soy sauce dakgalbi and charcoal-grilled seasoned dakgalbi. The makguksu options were bibim makguksu and mul makguksu, while the side dishes included buckwheat pancake rolls and buckwheat dumplings.

I also ordered the buckwheat pancake rolls, which I usually enjoy. More basic side dishes were available at the self-service bar, and the vegetables still had a crisp texture.

How did I order and eat the soy sauce and seasoned dakgalbi?

I ordered half soy sauce dakgalbi and half seasoned dakgalbi.

Rice cake pieces came with the dakgalbi. I liked eating the browned rice cakes grilled beside the meat. Additional rice cake pieces could also be ordered.

The dakgalbi arrived par-cooked, and a staff member grilled it from start to finish. It did not take long to cook, so even while hungry, the wait did not feel lengthy.

It was grilled over charcoal, which gave it a smoky aroma, and the chicken thigh meat was tender. To my taste, both the soy sauce and seasoned versions were mild rather than spicy.

The flavor changed depending on the side dishes. I liked placing the dakgalbi on a perilla leaf, adding plenty of the side-dish seasoning, and wrapping it up.

After grilling all the meat, the staff member stood the grill plate upright so it would not cook any further. That made it easy to keep the meat warm while eating.

What was the takeout discount at the time of my visit?

At the time, the restaurant was also advertising discounts on dakgalbi takeout. Two servings were ₩20,000 after a ₩10,000 discount from ₩30,000; three servings had a ₩15,000 discount, and four servings had a ₩20,000 discount.

There was also coffee for dessert at the restaurant. After shopping, I could eat staff-grilled dakgalbi and finish with dessert coffee in one place.
