After a hearty lunch I headed to Deokmi Atelier for coffee ☕️

A 3-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach: a Millak-dong house turned European studio
Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch is a café set inside a renovated house down an alley in Gwangalli. It's close to Gwangalli Beach, perfect for a seaside stroll too (3 minutes on foot).
There's a peaceful garden with outdoor seating, so it'd be lovely to sit outside on a nice day too.
Walking in, the space is modeled after a small European café and studio — antique furniture and props blended naturally into the interior caught my eye.

The desserts all look so delicious 🤍 They had replica models on display, which made choosing a bit easier.

Deokmi Atelier desserts that change with the season
Deokmi's base lineup is cheesecake and tiramisu, and apparently they roll out new desserts each season using seasonal ingredients. I visited in summer so there were refreshing fruit-based desserts — since it changes by season, it's kind of exciting to wonder what will be on offer next time you visit 👍

What we ordered at Deokmi Atelier and what it cost
Order Americano (ice) ₩5,500 Royal Vanilla Bean Latte (ice) ₩6,500 Matcha Choco Latte (ice) ₩7,000 Crème Brûlée French Toast ₩13,000 White Peach Tiramisu ₩12,000

Free bean choice, decaf at no charge, refills for 2,500 won
You can choose your preferred coffee bean for free, and I liked that switching to decaf was also free. Coffee in the evening can feel a bit much sometimes, but with decaf available, you could totally watch the Gwangalli sunset and then drop by. If you chat for a while or take your time with dessert and coffee, your cup disappears fast — good to know refills are available for an extra ₩2,500!

I heard the Gwang-an branch is Deokmi's third location, following Gijang Deokmi and Haeundae Deokmi. I've been to the Gijang branch too, and both the desserts and the view left me really satisfied, haha.

It's a great spot for a warm chat or to just relax, and the European-style interior makes it a good photo spot too — even on a weekday afternoon it was packed with people. Clearly a hot café.

After a short wait, our order arrived — every single item looked made with care 🥹
How the matcha choco latte, royal vanilla bean latte and iced americano taste
Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch's Matcha Choco Latte (₩7,000) had matcha's bitterness balancing out the chocolate's sweetness. The Royal Vanilla Bean Latte (₩6,500) had vanilla bean's sweetness coming through without the usual sickly syrup taste.

I wanted both a matcha latte and a choco latte so I ordered the matcha choco, which combines the two.
The first sip instantly reminded me of choco tree forest candy, haha. The chocolate's sweetness is nicely reined in by matcha's signature bitterness, so it's pleasantly sweet without being too much — honestly, matcha plus chocolate can't really go wrong.

Vanilla lattes sometimes taste a bit sickly from the syrup, but this one had none of that — the milk's nutty richness and vanilla bean's moderate sweetness came through nicely, which I loved.

For my iced Americano I chose the nutty bean with deep, rich flavor over the more acidic bean — it definitely had that nutty taste, paired well with the desserts, and was totally my style.
Crème brûlée French toast and white peach tiramisu at Deokmi Atelier
The Crème Brûlée French Toast (₩13,000) comes topped with white cream, caramel sauce and cinnamon powder. The White Peach Tiramisu (₩12,000) was a summer dessert with peaches, Greek yogurt and house-made tiramisu cream.

The French toast smelled amazing — it comes out topped with white cream, caramel sauce and a dusting of cinnamon powder.

You could feel the fluffiness the moment the knife cut in 🤍

Take a bite with the cream and toast together and it just melts right in your mouth 🥹 It's soft enough to make you wonder how on earth the bread was soaked, and with the surface actually torched like a real crème brûlée, the crisp, sweet sugar crust went perfectly with it.
It's ridiculously cute from the look of it too 🎀 Honestly kind of looks like a baby's bottom, haha.
With peaches, Greek yogurt and house-made tiramisu cream, it was so refreshing and sweet — a perfect summer dessert 🍑 Besides the peach on top for decoration, there was plenty of peach layered at the bottom too, and I think it'd pair really well with warm tea as well.

Is Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch worth a visit?
The cozy, European-inflected atmosphere was so pretty, and the desserts were delicious too, making for a relaxing stretch of time. It's also a great space for photos, so if you're looking for a good-vibe café in Gwangalli, I'd recommend 'Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch' 🤎
