Family meal with kids at Dream Samgyetang near Dongtan Station

Dream Samgyetang is a samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) restaurant on the 2nd floor near Dongtan Station in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. On a weekday visit with kids and husband, the family ordered the classic Dream Samgyetang, perilla samgyetang, and abalone chicken porridge, and the kids nearly finished the porridge. A solid family dinner spot where adults can get their nourishing soup while kids get an easy, kid-friendly dish.

Rainy weekday crab catching and ray feeding at Artis Theme Park

Artis Theme Park is an indoor hands-on animal park in Dongtan, Hwaseong. Visiting on a rainy weekday afternoon with two kids, the family tried feed scooping, reptile watching, ray feeding, doctor fish, and crab catching — and the son loved crab catching best. A great indoor outing on a day when outdoor plans got rained out.
