Seoul Korean BBQ in Haengdang-dong: half-cabbage kimchi, Pujutgan
In short
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom (푸줏간생고기점) is a Korean BBQ restaurant that grills meat on cauldron lids in Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, between Wangsimni and Haengdang stations. The writer ordered a mix of gabrisal (pork front rib meat), pork neck and pork skirt (galmaegisal). They also had the half head of napa cabbage kimchi served at every table, ssam greens refilled without asking, and free doenjang jjigae and bibim naengmyeon. At Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, the meat and the free dishes were both as satisfying as anything on the regular menu.

Where is Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, and is there parking?
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom (푸줏간생고기점) is a Korean BBQ restaurant a 3-minute walk from Wangsimni Station Exit 10 and a 5-minute walk from Haengdang Station Exit 2. If you drive, you get 1 hour of free parking at the public lot, so it's worth checking. Great service and great meat quality: it's a Wangsimni BBQ spot I'd recommend.

Is Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom good for a company dinner or group meal in Wangsimni?
Pujutgan has plenty of seats and wide spacing between tables, so it's perfect for a company dinner or group gathering in Wangsimni. Every time I pass through Wangsimni this place is packed, and I hear it's known among locals as a long-standing meat favorite. The interior feels as friendly as those years, with roomy seating. The menu is varied too, so I'm going to recommend it for our next company dinner!

What comes with Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom's unlimited free dishes?
I heard that tables that order meat for every person get unlimited stew, naengmyeon (cold noodles), noodles and nurungji (scorched rice)..! Wow, I'd be grateful for just the stew, but unlimited noodles, naengmyeon and nurungji for the meal too? No wonder people flock here as a great-value BBQ spot in Wangsimni!
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom menu: pork and hanwoo beef cuts

The menu is split into beef and pork. There was a wide range of hanwoo (Korean beef) options, and the pork came in five cuts.
- Beef: hanwoo assortment, Pujutgan Special, brisket, Pujutgan Special (half), hanwoo sirloin, hanwoo neck, hanwoo chuck flap, hanwoo brisket, hanwoo blade, hanwoo yukhoe (beef tartare) plate
- Pork: fresh pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl (hangjeongsal), gabrisal (pork front rib meat), skirt meat (galmaegisal)

Half a head of napa cabbage kimchi on every table
Every table gets mushrooms and a whole half head of appetizing, bright red napa cabbage kimchi! With a generous start like that kimchi, imagine how much better it tastes grilled on the cauldron lid~~!

How do gabrisal, pork neck and pork skirt taste grilled on a cauldron lid?
We ordered a bit of everything: gabrisal, pork neck and skirt meat. The meat quality was great and thick, and on the cauldron-lid grill where the grease runs right off, the heat transfer was so good that it cooked up deliciously fast.

The nutty smell of meat spreads the moment it hits the grill! The outside stays crispy and the inside is tender, and because the meat itself is so fresh, the more you chew the nuttier it gets, with a wonderful meaty aroma.

Ssam greens refilled without even asking
At Pujutgan, the staff bring more ssam greens (leafy wraps) without you asking for a refill. I love ssam and eat a lot of vegetables, so this sweetness won me over again ❤️

Free doenjang jjigae or kimchi jjigae: which should you pick?
For the free stew you can choose doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or kimchi jjigae, and we picked doenjang jjigae! I thought a free stew would be basic, but it came with plenty of tofu~ plenty of vegetables~ plenty of meat~ with everything packed in, it couldn't possibly be bad. It was rich in flavor and a hearty doenjang jjigae that didn't feel free at all!

Finishing with free bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles)
And here comes the bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) you'd feel sorry skipping! The portion was really generous. As I said above, nurungji, mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon are all free, and I truly loved that service!
From start to finish, I was so satisfied with Pujutgan, a Haengdang-dong BBQ spot! The meat was delicious, and the free dishes were as good as regular menu items, so it felt like being treated properly. I think it would also be good for a family gathering near Haengdang Station or in Wangsimni.
