Egg tart bakery near Sokcho Central Market, 3–4 bakes a day: Doris
In short
Doris Patisserie is a pink bakery near Sokcho Central Market in Sokcho, Gangwon, that sells freshly baked egg tarts every day in 3–4 baking rounds. A reservation made the day before secured a 12pm pickup of a box of six original and cream cheese egg tarts, and the Doris Patisserie showcase also held lemon and Earl Grey madeleines plus coconut and chocolate financiers. Because each baking round sells out on its own, booking Doris Patisserie a day ahead is the easy choice once your date is set.

When you travel to Sokcho, food like dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) and squid sundae (stuffed squid sausage) is a must, but this time there was a dessert I really wanted to try ☺️ It's Doris Patisserie, an egg tart bakery near Sokcho Central Market ❣️
This place sells freshly baked egg tarts every day, but you can't just drop by anytime — it runs about 3–4 baking rounds a day. Worried it might sell out, I reserved the day before and went for a 12pm pickup.
Doris Patisserie location and opening hours in Sokcho

Doris Patisserie was easy to spot the moment I arrived! The whole storefront is a vivid pink, so it catches your eye immediately even while just walking near Sokcho Central Market haha. I'd booked a 12pm pickup, but people were already lining up before noon even hit. There was a separate line for reservation pickups and another for walk-in customers waiting on the spot — you could really feel how popular it is.

Can you walk in? How the 3–4 daily baking rounds work
Doris Patisserie does allow walk-in purchases, but depending on how many reservations there are, sales can be delayed or not happen at all for walk-ins, and once the prepared stock for that round runs out, that round closes immediately.

Doris Patisserie isn't the type of bakery that sells all day long like a regular bakery. It runs about 3–4 rounds a day timed to the baking schedule, with reserved customers picked up first before remaining stock goes to walk-in customers waiting on site. Since reservations can close early, if you have a fixed visit date, booking the day before will really put your mind at ease!!

The Doris Patisserie showcase: egg tarts, madeleines and financiers
Walking into the shop, the showcase stole my attention right away! The egg tarts were lined up densely by type, and the golden-brown baked look was seriously mouthwatering 🤤

Doris Patisserie doesn't just sell egg tarts — they also had a good variety of financiers and madeleines ready. I saw lemon, Earl Grey, and vanilla madeleines, and coconut, chocolate, and other flavors of financiers, which seemed like a solid option for anyone looking for gift desserts too. The colorful pink-and-orange packaging was pretty enough to make a nice Sokcho trip souvenir!

There were also box sets that let you pack several egg tarts at once. You could go with a box of all original, a box of all cream cheese, or a set that mixes a bit of everything — great for sharing with family or friends haha.

Looking further into the shop, egg tarts were really being prepared nonstop 🫶🏻 Every tray was piled high with them! So that's why people gather at set times — because each round is baked fresh right before selling!

Pink-and-orange packaging that doubles as a Sokcho souvenir
The pink and orange mixed packaging really matched Doris Patisserie's vibe. They put everything in a handle bag, so it was easy to carry around while continuing to explore Sokcho. And getting a little extra service item at pickup made me happy too 😊

How do the original and cream cheese egg tarts taste?
Finally, box opening time! I wanted to properly taste the basics, so I ordered original and cream cheese.

The moment I opened the box, six golden-brown egg tarts sat lined up inside, giving off such a nutty, savory smell 🤤🤤 The pastry outside was baked crisp and flaky, and the filling inside was soft and packed full — the first bite was genuinely delicious!!!

The original was great for fully enjoying the basic savory-sweet flavor of an egg tart, while the cream cheese added that rich, smooth cream cheese character on top, making it a bit heavier and more indulgent.

Check out the review event too~!
If you're looking for a dessert that's not so common in Sokcho, Doris Patisserie is worth a stop. After browsing Sokcho Central Market, if you're craving something sweet, try the original and cream cheese and pick your favorite. Thanks to the pretty packaging, it also makes a great Sokcho trip gift, and it was perfect packed back to the guesthouse for a late-night dessert 🩷
