Incheon family bulgogi spot: old-style for 2, smoky squid, Dongchuwon
In short
Dongchuwon Bulgogi (동추원불고기) is a bulgogi restaurant near Singi Market in Hagik-dong, Michuhol, Incheon, that has been open for 8 years. At a family gathering the writer ordered old-style bulgogi for 2 (21,500 won) and fire-grilled squid (12,900 won), alternating between the sweet bulgogi simmered in its own broth and the smoky squid. With a mild table spread and private rooms, Dongchuwon Bulgogi is a good choice for a family meal with older relatives in Incheon.

What kind of place is Dongchuwon Bulgogi in Hagik-dong?
Dongchuwon Bulgogi (동추원불고기) has been a well-known bulgogi spot in Hagik-dong, Incheon, for 8 years. It has held its place as a Singi Market favorite for a long time, so I trusted it and decided to visit.

How does parking work at Dongchuwon Bulgogi?
If you use the designated lot in front of the restaurant or the public roadside parking, you get parking support. It's 30 minutes free with a meal order and 1 hour 30 minutes free with a dish order. No parking stress, which made it easy to come.

Are there rooms for family or group gatherings?
Inside, Dongchuwon Bulgogi is bigger than you'd expect. Private rooms can be reserved separately, and I heard they hold anywhere from 6 to 28 people. It looks good for group gatherings or company dinners too.

Dongchuwon Bulgogi menu and prices
The menu at Dongchuwon Bulgogi is varied, from old-style bulgogi at ₩21,500 up to the Korean beef bulgogi set at ₩27,900.
- Old-style bulgogi ₩21,500
- Korean beef bulgogi set ₩27,900
- Korean beef bulgogi ₩25,000
- Premium Korean beef bosin gukbap (beef soup with rice) ₩16,900
- Korean beef minari yukhoe (seasoned raw beef with water dropwort) ₩24,000
- Fire-grilled squid ₩12,900

With so many Korean beef options, it's honestly perfect for a family bulgogi meal in Incheon. If it's your first time, I think the Korean beef bulgogi set would give you a nicely full spread.

What does old-style bulgogi for 2 taste like?
I ordered old-style bulgogi for 2 and the fire-grilled squid.

The old-style bulgogi at Dongchuwon Bulgogi is hotpot-style: you grill the bulgogi on the top of the pan while vegetables simmer in broth below.

The smell of meat grilling on the pan is so good. Sweet, with a soy sauce aroma rising up, kind of like the bulgogi my grandma used to make when I was little?

It's old-fashioned bulgogi with a shallow pool of broth, and the meat soaks it up, so each bite spreads juicy and moist.
The sweet-salty seasoning soaks right into the meat, and I really liked that it's tender, not tough. Put it on rice with the broth and a bowl disappears in no time,,

Side dishes and the morning-bun bulgogi burger
The standard side dishes at Dongchuwon Bulgogi are totally great too! You get salad, gat pickle (mustard leaf pickle), pickled onion, seasoned radish strips and onion salad.

They also bring morning buns and cheese, and if you tuck bulgogi between the bread to make a bulgogi burger, it's a real treat.

Does the fire-grilled squid go well with bulgogi?
The fire-grilled squid (₩12,900) at Dongchuwon Bulgogi has a lively smoky flavor. It's grilled over direct flame, so the outside has a slightly charred smell, and that actually makes it tastier.
The squid keeps a chewy, springy texture, and the seasoning isn't heavy, so you can taste the squid itself. Eating it in turns with the bulgogi, I never got tired of either, it just kept going down?
Why it works for a family meal with older relatives
The side dishes at Dongchuwon Bulgogi come out neat and aren't harsh or spicy, so they're easy to eat with older family members. There aren't many places in Hagik-dong that are good for family gatherings, right? Being able to eat quietly with family in a private room was also one reason I picked Dongchuwon Bulgogi for a family bulgogi meal in Incheon.

Next time I want to try the Korean beef minari yukhoe and the premium Korean beef bosin gukbap too. Holding its place as a Singi Market favorite in Incheon for 8 years is no accident. If you're looking for a good place to eat in Hagik-dong, give Dongchuwon Bulgogi a try.

Even the dessert ice cream is free~ I left well fed all the way through dessert ^_^
