Gimhae taco restaurant for shrimp tacos: Holstaco Yulha

I went back to Holstaco Yulha (홀스타코 율하) with my parents because I kept thinking about the Camarón I had before. There had been three kinds of tacos on my last visit, but the Mac Taco had been added this time, making four. We also ordered the chili burrito, which had been sold out on my previous visit.

Where is Holstaco Yulha, and is parking available?

The address is 1F, 82 Gwandong-ro, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. The hours listed in the original post are 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM, with last orders at 8:00 PM. It is regularly closed on Mondays; if Monday is a public holiday, it closes on Tuesday instead.

There was room for about three cars directly in front of the restaurant. The post also said that free parking was available along Yulhacheon. I looked over the menu outside before going in.

Are there seats and facilities for solo and family meals?

The interior was still tidy when I returned. There was bar seating that looked comfortable for eating alone, and upbeat music was playing.

Water and candy were available, and there was also a washbasin inside. Even when eating with gloves on, it was convenient to be able to wash my hands without going all the way to the restroom.

We ordered at a kiosk, then sat down and waited for the food to be brought over. There was also a standard menu, so you could choose while seated and then order. High chairs and extra chairs were available too.

There was also a guide to eating tacos, which I used this time. The restroom was to the left after going out through the door with the sign; the owner would tell you the password if you asked. It was clean when I used it.

What did we order with my parents?

On this visit, I saw the new Mac Taco and set menus. We ordered birria, Mac Taco, Camarón, and a chili burrito, and also tried nachos & salsa and jamaica.

Each table had wet wipes, tissues, disposable gloves, and taco sauce. We wore gloves and ate the tacos with our hands.

The chili burrito and three kinds of tacos came out first. My father, who likes trying new foods, was pleased, and both of my parents especially enjoyed the Camarón.

How were the birria and my first Mac Taco?

The birria had tender meat, just as it did last time. It was good dipped in the sauce, but also tasty without it. The Mac Taco, which I tried for the first time, felt a little like eating a hamburger. The handmade beef patty had a pronounced cheese flavor, with a moderate amount of vegetables on top.

How was the Camarón I wanted to eat again?

The shrimp in the Camarón was large again. It was crisp on the outside and juicy inside, and the salad on top went with it cleanly. The sauce suited my taste too, making it one of the tacos from this meal that stayed on my mind.

Was the chili burrito good for sharing?

The chili burrito had been sold out on my previous visit, so this time I asked whether it was available as soon as we arrived. It came cut in half, which made it easy to share with the person I was with. It contained rice, vegetables, and meat, and even half was quite filling. For me, half a burrito with one Camarón and one Mac Taco was a good combination.

How were the extra nachos and jamaica?

Wanting to eat more, we added a Mac Taco and Camarón, and ordered nachos & salsa too. The freshly fried nachos were crisp enough that I wanted to have them with beer. I did not drink beer that day, but I would like to pair them next time.

I was told that jamaica is a Mexican iced tea made by steeping hibiscus petals and serving it cold. To me, it was a sweet drink with a slight cinnamon flavor. Drinking it at the end of the meal left my mouth feeling refreshed.

Can you eat lightly or get takeout after a Yulhacheon walk?

Because it is close to Yulhacheon, I thought it would be a nice place to stop for a light meal during a walk. Takeout was available, and takeout customers came in while we waited for our food. If I lived nearby, I would want to get takeout and have it with beer. My parents liked the Camarón too, so I was glad I had brought them, and I would like to go back for it again.
