I visited Something About Coffee, a dessert café near Sinnonhyeon Station. It sits between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, with a big space spread over floors 1 to 3. You can enjoy all kinds of desserts, like cakes and cookies!! There are plenty of seats and even an outdoor terrace, so it's a lovely café for chatting with friends or stopping by on a Gangnam date 🍵 Best of all, the matcha cream choco latte I tried this time was bittersweet and sweet at once, and it was really good haha. So let me introduce the drinks and desserts I actually tried ☕️

Something About Coffee exterior and terrace near Sinnonhyeon Station

Something About Coffee is a sizable café near Sinnonhyeon Station that uses floors 1 through 3. There are lots of small cafés around Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, but what sets Something About Coffee apart is that you get several floors of the building.

Besides the indoor space, there's also an outdoor terrace, so on a nice day it looked like a great place to enjoy the fresh air.

A good pick if you're looking for a café with a terrace in Gangnam, or want to drink coffee somewhere with a different vibe than just sitting inside 🏡
Is Something About Coffee crowded inside?
Seats are spread from floor 1 to floor 3, but it was still quite busy when I visited. Inside, there are seats right from the 1st floor, and stairs lead up to the upper floors. Since the café runs from floor 1 to floor 3, it's roomier than you'd expect. I liked that the seating is spread over several floors and there's even an outdoor terrace 🌳

That said, a big space doesn't mean it's always quiet. There are many seats, but there can be many visitors too, so if you want to settle in comfortably, it's worth thinking about what time you go.
Drinks and desserts are ordered on the 2nd floor. Besides the indoor seats there's the outdoor terrace, so on a nice day you could enjoy your coffee outside. It's also a great dessert spot for catching up with friends or taking a break on a Gangnam date.

Besides coffee and drinks, it's a dessert hotspot with bread, cookies, cakes and more. It's well known as a dessert spot near Gangnam Station 🍨 There were so many kinds, and so many pretty ones, that I struggled to choose.

The chocolate one looked so good that I picked it first. Personally, a strong recommendation.
What I ordered at Something About Coffee

This time at Something About Coffee I ordered four items: two drinks and two desserts.
- ☕ Drinks: matcha cream choco latte, decaf iced Americano
- 🍪 Desserts: choco pudding cookie, pistachio cheesecake

There's a big variety of desserts, including all the trendy ones. They looked so good that I wanted to try every kind.

What does the matcha cream choco latte taste like?
The matcha cream choco latte (₩8,000) at Something About Coffee combines the bitterness of matcha with the sweetness of chocolate, and it was the dish I enjoyed most this time 🍵 You know how sometimes you want a sweet drink but it's a letdown when it's only sweet? The matcha's bitterness is added here, so it was sweet but still finished clean.
With one sip, the sweet and bittersweet flavors blended together and I felt all my tiredness melt away. Personally, it was the most satisfying of everything I ordered. If you like matcha or often drink chocolate drinks, it's worth trying once.

Decaf iced Americano: how much is the decaf switch?
At Something About Coffee, switching to decaf is just +₩500, cheaper than other places. I ordered sweet drinks and desserts together, and picked a decaf iced Americano too. If you want coffee but would like less caffeine, it's worth checking whether a decaf option is available. Since I ordered several sweet items this time, I got coffee as well and enjoyed it however I liked.

Choco pudding cookie: texture and sweetness
The choco pudding cookie at Something About Coffee was firm on the outside and soft inside. The outer part is fairly firm but the inside is soft and tender, so you notice the contrast in texture with the first bite. Being a chocolate dessert, it was also quite sweet.

I like sweet drinks and desserts, but everything I ordered this time felt strongly sweet overall. If you like sweet cookies, it's a good match with coffee. Not for you if you don't like sweets, recommended if you do! I do, so I loved it haha.

Is the pistachio cheesecake too sweet?
The pistachio cheesecake at Something About Coffee was also fairly sweet overall. It was the last dessert I ordered, and a nice thing about the café is the variety of cakes, so you can pick whatever suits your taste.

If you usually like sweet cakes and desserts, enjoy them with a drink. I recommend ordering an Americano with it. Besides cakes, there are plenty of cookies and baked sweets too, so browsing the showcase and choosing seems like part of the fun 🍮

It has a spacious layout from floor 1 to floor 3, seating in several spots, and even an outdoor terrace 🌲 One thing to note: it tends to be busy, so even with plenty of seats it can get crowded depending on when you visit.
Above all, the variety of desserts like cakes and cookies makes it a place I recommend for anyone who loves sweet snacks 🧁 If you're looking for a dessert spot near Gangnam Station, do go. My favorite was the matcha cream choco latte. Bittersweet matcha and sweet chocolate came together deliciously, and I even felt tiredness melt away as I drank it, so I was very happy haha.
