Gangnam Station after-work date: burgers and wings at Bass Burger
In short
Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town is a handmade burger restaurant about a 3-minute walk from Exit 5 of Gangnam Station (Shinbundang Line) in Seocho, Seoul. On a weeknight date after work, the writer ordered a Double Bass Burger set, a Hawaiian Burger combo and 4 chicken wings, and especially liked the unlimited refill potato chips, the bacon-crisp patty and the better-than-expected chicken wings. A Bass Burger fan of 5 years, the writer also recommends Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town as a solo lunch burger spot near Gangnam Station.

Why Bass Burger for an after-work date near Gangnam Station
For our weeknight after-work date near Gangnam Station, I picked Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town. These days we do a lot of weekday dates around Gangnam Station, and the biggest after-work headache is deciding on dinner. I'm the type who always decides the day before, of course, but last week my boyfriend had a lot of company dinners, so we decided to finally have burgers again.
Gangnam Station has plenty of Shake Shack and Five Guys, but Bass Burger has always been one of my absolute favorite burger places, so last week we went to Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town. I first met Bass Burger 5 years ago: my first job was in Pangyo, and I had burgers with my teammates almost once a week for lunch or dinner. Those burgers were Bass Burger.
If you ask me, the one thing you must try at Bass Burger is the Hawaiian Burger, no contest. The unlimited potato chips are a huge draw, and the patty has a crispy, bacon-like texture, so I really recommend it.
Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town: hours and location
Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town is open Monday to Friday 11:00–21:00 and Saturday 11:00–20:30, and closed every Sunday. It's about a 3-minute walk (I think?) from Exit 5 of Gangnam Station on the Shinbundang Line.
- Closed every Sunday
- Monday–Friday 11:00–21:00
- Saturday 11:00–20:30
There are lots of offices and officetels around, so it seems perfect for a work lunch too. Parking looks difficult.

Atmosphere: a hall with plenty of seats, easy for conversation
The inside of Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town has lots of seats and feels pleasant. Turnover is fast too. We went at dinner time and there were many takeout customers, while eating in the hall was comfortable for chatting.

What the two of us ordered
As a Bass Burger lover, I ordered my all-time favorites: a Double Bass Burger set, a Hawaiian Burger combo and 4 chicken wings. (The chicken is seriously good, please order it!)

How the unlimited refill potato chips work
Bass Burger's biggest draw is the unlimited refill potato chips!! When I first ate there in Pangyo, I was already a person who loves potato chips, and they were so good that I kept coming back.
Five Guys has its peanuts, but I'm Team Bass Burger chips all the way!!

I filled a potato tray with chips, chose a sauce and went back to our table.

After happily munching through two rounds of chips while we talked, my burger was suddenly ready at the pickup zone.

Ahh, look how gorgeous... Since we'd already had the chips, I ordered fries with just one set, and the other one as a combo.

Bass Burger chicken wings and fries
The chicken wings were the first thing I ate this visit, and they were better than I expected. Oh! Oh! They're totally delicious... Bass Burger never disappoints. I should have ordered 8 wings!!!
The fries taste like proper potato, no explanation needed, and they're not too salty, so you can keep eating without getting sick of them.

Double Bass Burger: the crispy, bacon-like patty
The key to the Double Bass Burger is the crispy, salty, bacon-like meat patty. I was originally going to get the Tamyok Burger (the "Greed" burger), but I'm on a diet.. well, yes.. so, with the diet in mind, I ordered the Double Bass Burger. Back when I ate Bass Burger all the time, I always had either the Double Bass or the Hawaiian!
Ahh.. still.. even after a long break, this meat patty is really the kicker. Crispy texture, salty flavor, a bacon-like patty, and once you take a bite you can't stop.

Hawaiian Burger: a taste that converted a pineapple hater
The Bass Burger Hawaiian Burger's charm is the combination of warm, sweet pineapple with the meat patty. Personally, I was a pineapple hater before I first met the Hawaiian Burger at Bass Burger, okay? But back then everyone on my team ordered it, so I ordered it without really thinking, and the mild sweetness of pineapple warmed by the heat, together with the meat patty, was far better than I expected.
Bass Burger is what made me realize, "Wait.. I'm actually a pineapple person?" Please, please order it!!!!
Why it's also a great solo lunch burger near Gangnam Station
When I lived in Gwanggyo there was no Bass Burger nearby, so even after leaving my first company, whenever I went to visit my teammates I'd say, "Please take me to Bass Burger!" It's that good. A junior from my old company lives in Pangyo, and I love this place so much that I sent a Bass Burger gift voucher as a present, begging them to please eat it.
Want a burger for lunch and want to eat quickly on your own? Head to Bass Burger Gangnam Samsung Town!!!
