Stroller brunch café to skip Anseong Farmland lines: Chat Baker

Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a two-floor brunch and bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. A mom on parental leave visited Chat Baker on a weekend with her husband and baby to avoid the lunch wait at Anseong Farmland, and ordered panne bacon cream pasta and chicken chili risotto with the stroller parked beside the table. Verdict: wide table spacing fits a stroller and the spicy risotto cuts the cream pasta's richness, making Chat Baker a good brunch stop with a baby near Anseong Farmland.

Sokcho family restaurant, octopus perilla porridge: Deungdae Gotgan

Deungdae Gotgan (등대곳간) is a sea-view Korean restaurant on the second floor facing Deungdae Beach in Sokcho, Gangwon. For the first meal of a Sokcho trip with parents, husband and baby, the writer ordered jjageul nakji (spicy stir-fried octopus), octopus perilla porridge and a pork cutlet; the perilla porridge tamed the octopus's heat and the pork cutlet was crispier than expected. With baby chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows onto the sea, Deungdae Gotgan made a satisfying meal for a family with a baby.

Ulsanbawi-view Sokcho café for 3 generations: lemon tea, Cafe Neorae

Cafe Neorae is a large café with views of Ulsanbawi rock on Wonamhaksapyeong-gil in Sokcho, Gangwon. On a three-generation trip, the writer's parents, husband and baby parked the stroller beside the widely spaced seats and drank iced Americano, lemon tea and the signature Sua Da Einspänner while looking at Ulsanbawi through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Rain was forecast, but the day turned out sunny, and Cafe Neorae let the family enjoy Ulsanbawi properly without hiking the mountain with a baby.

Birthday cheonggukjang dinner at Jecheon Korean restaurant Deulbabae

Deulbabae is a Korean restaurant on the 3rd floor of Forest Club at Forest Resom in Baegun-myeon, Jecheon. On a birthday trip with a baby, the writer ordered the Spring Seolbap set for two, which came with cheonggukjang-based doenjang stew (fermented soybean stew), braised kodari pollock, grilled mackerel, spicy pork bulgogi and stone-pot rice. With room seating and a banchan (side dish) refill corner, Deulbabae works well for a three-generation family dinner.
