Stroller brunch café to skip Anseong Farmland lines: Chat Baker

A big café instead of the Anseong Farmland lunch wait

Chat Baker (챗 베이커) is a big brunch café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, which I found as a backup when the lunch wait at Anseong Farmland got long. We went to Anseong Farmland with the baby last weekend, and the wait for lunch inside Farmland was just too long. I really hate waiting, and with a baby I hate it even more, so I searched for large cafés around Pyeongtaek and Anseong and found Chat Baker 🌟

I figured it would only sell coffee and desserts, but Chat Baker serves brunch too, so I thought, this is exactly what I was looking for :> With a baby, a spacious, comfortable big café is the best. There's plenty of room even with a stroller, so you feel less awkward about it 😆

Chat Baker in Pyeongtaek-Anseong ❤️ Like any big café, it even has a second floor. It's been a while since I went out for brunch, so I was super excited 🤭 I eat in battle mode at home every day while raising a baby, so I'm the kind of mom who gets thrilled going somewhere pretty to eat something tasty.

What are the interior and seating like at Chat Baker?

Inside, Chat Baker has glass walls and a mix of seating, from sofa seats to square tables. The glass walls made the place feel wide open. Some people come for brunch and others for dessert and coffee, so there were sofas that suit desserts and coffee, and square tables that suit brunch 👍

We came at peak weekend lunchtime, and the tables for brunch were all full. So we first sat outside, but it was a hot day, so we moved indoors the moment a seat opened up 😉

Table spacing that fits a stroller

The tables on the first floor of Chat Baker are spaced widely, so I could eat comfortably with the stroller beside me. There was plenty of room for a baby stroller.

Because of the stroller, I went up to the second floor alone, took a quick look around and came back down :) The first floor had a lot of people enjoying brunch, while the second floor seemed to have more people having coffee and dessert.

The glass-wall view from the second floor was pretty too :) Every time I visit a big café I sigh, ugh, I so want to run a café myself, but in reality I'm a mom on parental leave 🤭

Chat Baker menu: pasta, risotto, drinks, desserts and salads

Chat Baker is a brunch café with lots of pasta, plus drinks, desserts and salads. After walking hard and taking photos at Anseong Farmland for the first time in ages, I was starving. All the way there, my husband and I kept looking at the menu and debating what to eat.

The menu is huge, so I thought it would be even better to come with several people and order a bit of everything. If it were up to me, I'd have ordered pasta, risotto, dessert, the lot, but it was just the two of us, and my husband happened to be on a diet, so we ordered two dishes 😝

As a brunch café, it had a really wide range of pasta. Some of the pastas can be switched to risotto, which I liked ❤️

The drink selection was wide too. We had coffee before leaving in the morning, more coffee at Farmland, and ordered yet more coffee at this big café in Pyeongtaek-Anseong... ugh, without coffee to wake us up, we're running on empty these days. Night feedings really wear a person down 🤣

The desserts looked tasty too 😋 They also sell salads, which are perfect for people on a diet.

Panne bacon cream pasta and chicken chili risotto: how did the combo work?

We ordered two brunch dishes at Chat Baker that day.

• Panne bacon cream pasta (pasta served in a hollowed-out bread bowl)
• Chicken chili risotto

I really wanted panne for the first time in ages, so I ordered the panne bacon cream pasta, and since my husband is on a diet and needs to get his protein, he ordered the chicken chili risotto :)

We enjoyed both dishes 😋 The spicy chicken chili risotto cut through the richness of the panne cream, so the two together worked really well >_<
