Cheonan Shinsegae food court pizza: truffle gorgonzola at Clap Pizza

I went to Shinsegae Department Store in Cheonan for a date with my older sister, whom I hadn't seen in a while. We were planning to see a movie and eat dinner afterward, so we decided on the menu during the movie. Burgers and Clap Pizza, it was! There are lots of great places in the Shinsegae food court, but my sister had never tried Clap Pizza, so we settled on a burger and pizza.

Where is Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae, and how late is it open?

Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae is in the food court on the 4th floor of Shinsegae Department Store's Building B, right next to Downtowner Burger. Hours are 10:30–20:30 on weekdays and 10:30–21:00 on weekends.

Clap Pizza at 6 p.m.: popular pizzas sell out one after another

We got to Clap Pizza a little after 6 p.m. after the movie, and there weren't many people at the tables, so I thought, oh?! Nice, relaxed.

But!

When I looked at the menu to order, quite a few items were marked sold out because they'd run out of ingredients. The pepperoni pizza I wanted most was already sold out… I was disappointed, but decided on the supreme, and while I was thinking it over for a moment, that sold out too… T_T Oh well! Let's get the garlic shrimp, I said, and that was sold out as well! Honestly, in the short time I spent deliberating, everything sold out.

I don't like truffle, but I ended up ordering the truffle gorgonzola. Watching items sell out right before my eyes, I really felt how popular Clap Pizza is.

Is Clap Pizza's truffle gorgonzola okay if you dislike truffle?

Clap Pizza's truffle gorgonzola doesn't have an overpowering truffle smell, so even I, someone who doesn't love truffle, enjoyed it. I'll admit I hesitated a little when ordering because I don't really like truffle flavor, but to give you the conclusion first: the worry was for nothing!

The truffle comes through subtly rather than strongly, and it goes really well with the cheese and honey. It has that nutty richness gorgonzola is known for, and the dough is chewy too, so the moment I took a bite I went, huh?! This is so good. I could enjoy the chewy dough all the way to the end. It turns out it's true that there's no bad pizza at Clap Pizza.

At Clap Pizza you serve yourself plates, knife, fork and drinks. Drinks can be refilled.

Parmesan powder, hot sauce, garlic sauce: how to pair them?

The Parmesan blend cheese powder went best with the truffle gorgonzola, and I don't recommend the hot sauce. When I got the pizza, I also received things like Parmesan blend cheese powder, hot sauce and garlic sauce.

At first I thought, it's already sweet and nutty and delicious as is, do I really need this? Sprinkle it on, definitely! It added more richness, and I liked it even better. I usually love putting hot sauce on things, but it doesn't go with the truffle gorgonzola pizza, so I don't recommend it.

The garlic sauce was pretty good when I dabbed a little on whenever the pizza started to feel a bit heavy.

How much food is a Downtowner burger plus Clap Pizza?

If you order a Downtowner burger and Clap Pizza together, it's quite a lot for two people. I ordered a burger and a pizza (total greedy move), and it was way more than I expected, so we couldn't finish it all.

But no worries!

Leftover pizza can be packed to go, and when I took it home and reheated it, it tasted exactly the same! I enjoyed it so much. Clap Pizza has sizes from personal up to ones several people can share, so I think it's nice that it's no burden whether you eat alone or with a group.

Pizza at Shinsegae Cheonan: when to go to get the popular menu items?

At Clap Pizza Cheonan-Asan Shinsegae, popular items often sell out quickly in the evening or on weekends, so if you want pepperoni or supreme, I recommend going a bit earlier. It's in the food court of Shinsegae Department Store Cheonan-Asan, so it's a good stop in the middle of shopping or when you're there for a movie.

I missed out this time, but I plan to go back for the pepperoni. Since even someone who doesn't like truffle enjoyed it, if you're looking for pizza at Shinsegae in Cheonan, do try it. Movie, shopping and a meal all in one place made it a really satisfying day.
