Bangi-dong Korean pub with squid jjamppong and udon: Ilwolui Bam
In short
Ilwolui Bam (일월의밤) is a Korean pub that fills an entire second floor, about 80 pyeong, in the heart of the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul. On a Friday second round, the writer ordered the whole squid seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup, 25,900 won) with added udon noodles, the beef brisket and bean sprout stir-fry (16,900 won) and soju at 5,500 won a bottle; even with every table taken, Ilwolui Bam stayed quiet enough for easy conversation with friends. For a spacious room, a wide range of anju (drinking snacks) at 10,000 to 20,000 won and fair soju prices, Ilwolui Bam is a good fit among Bangi-dong bars.

Ilwolui Bam opening hours and reservation tips in Bangi-dong
Ilwolui Bam (일월의밤) is a Korean pub in the middle of the Bangi-dong food alley. It's open every day from 4 PM to 3 AM and takes Naver reservations. I went for a second round during a night out in Bangi-dong, and being a Friday night, the streets were absolutely packed.

You can feel the vibe of Ilwolui Bam before you even climb the stairs. It gave me a "great pasta place" feeling, which left an impression.
- Daily 16:00 to 03:00 the next day
- No dedicated parking lot
- Naver reservations available
On Friday peak time or weekends there may be no seats, so I recommend booking ahead. Ilwolui Bam sits right in the middle of the Bangi-dong food alley, so it's perfect for a second round.

Ilwolui Bam takes up the entire second floor, and just from the outside you can tell it's big.
How big is Ilwolui Bam inside?

I heard the space is about 80 pyeong (roughly 265 m²). It's a seriously grand, huge Korean pub o_O The room is big and the tables are spaced far apart, so it feels open and airy. If you're looking for a place for a group dinner, don't hesitate, book Ilwolui Bam.

When I arrived around 8:30 PM on Friday it was still quiet, but it filled up fast. Even with every seat taken, maybe because the space is so big, it never felt chaotic or loud, so it was easy to talk with my friends.

There are also open-feeling sliding windows. On a nice day, with them open, you could get a terrace vibe even on the second floor.

I only realized this while writing the blog post, but these days there's really no place without order tablets.
What do dishes cost at Ilwolui Bam?

The anju (dishes to go with drinks) at Ilwolui Bam are all in the ₩10,000 to ₩20,000 range, so the value is good. There's a wide variety, from dishes that can stand in for a meal to light snacks.
Whole squid seafood jjamppong: Ilwolui Bam's signature dish

The whole squid seafood jjamppong soup (spicy seafood noodle-style soup) at Ilwolui Bam is ₩25,900 and comes piled with cabbage and bean sprouts. Doesn't the broth look rich and refreshing just from the photo? It's the ultimate combo with soju.

Plump, thick squid goes in whole, which makes for a striking look. I ordered it with big expectations after reading other blog reviews, and it was even tastier than I hoped.. I think it could be pushed as Ilwolui Bam's signature dish.

The spicy broth still has the cool, clean flavor of seafood, so it works as a hangover cure the moment you drink soju.

Can you add udon noodles to the jjamppong at Ilwolui Bam?
The menu at Ilwolui Bam only listed ramyeon noodles, not udon noodles. After one spoonful of the broth I thought, this definitely needs udon noodles, so I asked the owner, and somehow they prepared udon noodles for us. Whatever noodles you add, adding some is a must, a must!

How was the beef brisket and bean sprout stir-fry?
The beef brisket bean sprout stir-fry at Ilwolui Bam is ₩16,900, half meat and half bean sprouts. Isn't the soul of a bean sprout stir-fry the crunch of the sprouts?!! This one kept the sprouts perfectly crisp, so the texture was so good.

A subtle smoky wok flavor blends with the rich taste of the beef brisket, and that savory depth is great as a drinking snack, and just as great for calming the spiciness of the squid jjamppong soup.

How much is soju at Ilwolui Bam?
Soju at Ilwolui Bam is ₩5,500 per bottle. (Thank goodness it's not ₩6,000 like elsewhere in Bangi-dong.) Anyway, when did we get through five bottles...!!!! The mood was great and the food was delicious, so, drinking too much issue~
Verdict: Ilwolui Bam for a second round in Bangi-dong
The place itself has a calm atmosphere, so even though it's large, you can spend cozy time with friends, which I feel is its best point. The prices are cheap and the taste was perfect too. There are separate group tables and rooms, so it's also great for get-togethers.
If you're looking for a pub in Bangi-dong with a big space, a wide choice of anju and low prices, I highly, highly recommend Ilwolui Bam ♥️
