Yard in Bomun, our first stop in Gyeongju

Yard is where we stopped for a morning brunch before a Gyeongju day course running from Bulguksa to Seokguram, Cheonmachong and then Cheomseongdae. It was a day with warm autumn sunshine, and Yard is a sun-drenched spot where even casual shots turn into great photos!

The open outdoor terrace and the colorful cosmos field made it a relaxed, romantic Gyeongju date spot~ Let me show you the atmosphere. If you want to soak in the mood on a Gyeongju trip, go go!!

The front yard of Yard was full of orange-yellow cosmos, which put me in a good mood right away. While waiting after ordering, we strolled through the cute flower field against the blue sky and took lots of pretty photos.

What is Yard's outdoor terrace like?

🍃 An outdoor terrace for sunshine and breeze

The outdoor terrace is the best part of Yard! You can look at the green plants, feel the breeze, and just relax. With blue mountains and fields in the distance, simply sitting there felt healing.

Yard's self-serve corner, interior and how to order

At Yard you pick up your tableware at the self-serve corner. Pickles and lemon water are there too, and I was surprised that the baked goods sold out the moment they came out of the oven.

This is the indoor space at Yard. There were a lot of families.

You order through a kiosk at Yard, and the second floor is a no-kids zone for people who want quiet relaxation.

Was Yard's flower garden in full bloom in early October?

This is the flower garden in front of Yard, and it takes your breath away!!! You can enjoy this huge flower field right across from the café entrance. We visited on exactly October 5, and the flowers were in full bloom like this. The wind was fairly chilly but the sun was warm, so good good!!!

Recommended brunch menu at Yard

🍽️ A moody brunch on top of a pretty view. The cool autumn breeze led us to a spot on Yard's terrace. Here are the brunch items I recommend, eaten even more happily with the scent of flowers on the wind.

(Left) It was like this, (right) and now it's like this~ pfhahaha! In the natural light the brunch dishes looked even more delicious, and the view over the table was perfect! I'll go through them one by one. These are my recommendations, so take note.

English plate

Yard's English plate comes neatly arranged with a muffin, sausage, salad and yogurt, full marks for both looks and composition.

Shrimp oil pasta: how spicy is it?

Yard's shrimp oil pasta is topped with plump shrimp, cherry tomatoes and arugula, fresh yet charmingly spicy. It's a little spicier than you'd expect, so keep that in mind when ordering.

French toast

Yard's French toast comes with sweet banana brûlée and Shine Muscat grapes, and it steals your eyes from the first look! Syrup is up to you^^!!

Coffee

Even the cup design of Yard's coffee is moody, so it was great for snapshots.

Ahh~~ the view really did it all. Brunch on the outdoor terrace looking at the flower field is, well, anything goes^^

✨ Verdict: is Bomun's Yard worth recommending?

Relaxed autumn weather, pretty scenery and delicious brunch all came together, and we had a happy time at Yard.

If you want pretty memories and photos on a special day, I highly recommend Yard in Bomun as a place to visit in Gyeongju! Adults and kids were all satisfied. Go in autumn for the best flower field!!!

With the wind blowing over the full-bloom flower field under warm sunshine, the scent of flowers made me so happy~~ Spacing out at the flowers never gets old, haha

📍 Yard location and parking

Yard is at 2 Cheongun 2-gil, Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk (Cheongun-dong). There is plenty of parking in front of and beside the café, so you can visit without parking worries, and I think it's a prime spot to enjoy a leisurely brunch with a flower field view.
